"Best value on the market, bar none!"

Feature:
You wont see alot of knobs and switches here, it only has the important ones and if you play with them a bit you can find pretty much any sound you're looking for.

Quality:
Checked out the cab and chassis after it got here, looked alright to me, checked all of the screws I could find, they were all tight, the tubes were nice and tight too, even after a six hour jam session.

Value:
The best value out there by far, when I was still shopping for a new amp, it finally came down to this one or a VOX modelling amp, I decided to go with the $200 tube amp, and haven't regreted it even for a second.

Desirability:
Even the wife loves it's vintage styling, even got mad at me when I said I wanted to take the tubes out and slide it around the driveway for awhile, to make the vintage looking cab look even more realistic.

Sound:
I have a Peavey Transtube that I USED to think sounded pretty good, this Pignose just blows it away, it's a great tone that comes out of that big ten inch. It's a bit more mellow sounding than the Peavey when I really drive it hard, transistors and chips still can't do what good old fashioned tubes can. I just plug in my strat, with a homemade 741 preamp in it, turn all the knobs over to the right as far as they'll go, and it's perfect.

Support:
Haven't had to get ahold of them, don't think I'll ever have too either.

Overall:
The next amp I get I'll build myself, already have my EL34's ready to go, and drilling the chassis tomorrow. If it was stolen, I'd get my gun and commence to chasin them down.

Pignose G40V Amp Customer Review

Feature:
Feature wise... this amp dosen't provide much, but who needs a bunch of crap when it sounds this good... Really , the only thing I would like to see is channel switching capability from clean to overdrive. That would make this amp PERFECT!!!! I hope someone at pignose is listening!!!! I consider it a huge drawback to dial in a clean sound and use some crappy pedal to get dirty with this amp, as it's dirty sound is sooooo perfect on it's own....I would gladly buy this amp again for twice the price if it had channel switching... PIGNOSE ARE YOU LISTENING????

Quality:
The quality of this amp seems up to snuff. It seems really solid and well constructed. Only time well tell. In the future I plan to upgrade to some groove tubes cause who knows whatis in it.

Value:
This amp is a steal. buy one, provided you are not playing in stadiums, and I know none of you are. I would happily pay 2-3 more for another one if it had channel switching. That could make it my main amp

Sound:
This little amp kicks butt. I have owned fender, marshall, peavey and a mish mash of other amps over the years, but to be really honest, regardless of price, this is the best sounding amp I have ever owned. It has a really meaty, warm, and responsive clean sound, and when mildly overdriven it really sounds good as well. Although it sounds awesome at lower volumes, it really shows its ability when cranked up. This amp is fully capable when playing with a full band, don't let it's small size fool you !!! I find that when dialed in a mild overdrive, I can get a full, warm , crunchy, yet repsonsive distortion that will back down to a cleaner sound by playing a bit lighter or backing off the guitar volume a bit. By the way, I primarily play a SRV strat.

Overall:
Overall, this amp is a treasure, It sounds great, looks good, it SOUNDS GREAT, it has knobs, IT SOUNDS GREAT, it has a plug to plug it in, IT SOUNDS GREAT, it has a speaker, IT SOUNDS GREAT, it has an input jack, IT SOUNDS GREAT, You get my drift......I just wish it had channel switching.

About This Product!
Description
The new Pignose G40V is a technical marvel that puts out a screaming conservatively rated 40 watts RMS through its own specially designed 10 in. speaker.

A truly pro amplifier, this little (14 x 9 x 17 in.) powerhouse features 2 - 6L6s, and 3 - 12AX7 tubes, 4 and 8 ohm output jacks, controls for volume, master volume, treble, mid, bass, and presence.

It's perfect for the bedroom, but really shines when you "open it up." It is capable of powering a 4 x 12 in. cabinet!

Pignose commissioned the world-renouned tube amp engineer and designer Dennis Kager to perfect this little monster, and it has been Field tested in clubs for 6 months to great acclaim.

The G40V is built like the time tested tube amps of the 60's, but in a tiny package, like a stealth amp. They'll laugh when you walk in with it, but they'll become true believers when they hear it crank. Best of all, it has the classic Pignose look and solid reputation

The Pignose G40V is compact, pro quality, powerful, and affordable. The ultimate combination!
