"Great value, solid performance."

Feature:
Built in mini mixer is a huge plus for versatility and convenience. I wish these cabs were stackable, had wheels and handles. As they are, you can pole-mount them which is fine. Carrying handles are intelligently placed for ergonomic handling and balance.

Quality:
Drivers are good. Neodymium magnets power speaker-motors with less weight. Poly-carb cabs are durable, lightweight and reasonably non-resonant. Class-D amps are OK and efficient so there is no fan noise and heat sinks are not too heavy.

Value:
Certainly one of the best values out there. Peavey is not over-charging for neodymium like some manufacturers. As consumers, we need to be informed. One of the greatest misinformation scams around today is the misconception that Neodymium is actually "rare" and therefore expensive. Facts: "neodymium" is a "rare Earth" element. Rare earth elements are a class of elements on the periodic table. That does NOT mean that neodymium is rare. In fact, it is the second most abundant of all the rare earth class elements at 338 ppb in the earth's crust. It is not rare, difficult to mine or process and should not be exorbitantly expensive. This powered speaker gives you 95% of the performance of Mackie and JBL active loudspeakers at slightly more than half the cost. That's a bargain.

Desirability:
If money were no object, I would spring for the extra 5% performance that other brands produce. As it is, I am much more comfortable with these than the higher priced models of other makers.

Sound:
Compares favorably with JBL Eons and Mackie active speakers. If I were to nit-pick, I'd say the crossover point is too low, the horns are slightly over-emphasized, and the whole system seems to be "Fletcher-Munson" enhanced. (pronounced lows and highs) That's OK at low volumes anyway. At high volumes, it isn't a problem either for most users unless you are dealing with finicky hi-fi full-range applications. Realistically, the system reproduces from 70Hz to 18kHz very accurately with reasonable dispersion.

Ease of Use:
The only way it could be much better is if they made the cabs with wheels and handles, or if they could roll themselves to the van.

Support:
Only dealt with Peavey support once in over thirty years of using their gear. (a small speaker replacement issue which was my fault) I got the right person on the phone within a few minutes and resolved the problem quickly.

Overall:
Thirty five years using Peavey has proven the brand's consistent durability. Sound quality is good too. These cost $300 less than the high-priced competitor's products. I am not knocking the other brands. I just think these are a much better value.

"thank you for the music!!"

Feature:
there´s nothing, i wish to ad.

Quality:
there ist nothing to say. we play them since 7 month 3-4 gigs a week in pubs and outdoor, and they are still working well. let me complain that in 2 years...

Value:
compared to mackies and jbl´s they are unbelivibal cheap! not one euro to expensive. first when i saw the price i thought ok. another cheap setup with annother cheap sound...but belive me, they sound much more expensive!

Desirability:
i like the understatement outfit of these boxes.

Sound:
first of all, sorry for my english. i´m an austrian. we have a guitar-duo an play them together with one sub. the sound is for a setup in this size very warm! espacaly compared to the mackies srm 45o. we also owned them, but they don´t sound as good as the peavey´s. first i thought 270 watt´s is not that much, but they are realy loud enough to make a bar with 150 persons burning! they are easy to use and i think the durability is ok. we also love their design...

Ease of Use:
plug and play!

Support:
never needet

Overall:
if they are stolen or broken, i think i buy a new pair of them! i told you. we played for two years the mackie srm 45o. and every gig the soundcheck needet to long. and when we startet the gig, we were not 100 % happy with the sound. it always was a littl agressive. with the peavey´s it is no soundcheck. we start to play one song, and we start to smile...!!! we play over 20 years live and i never thought that a soundcheck can be done in less than 5 minutes!!!

About This Product!
Description
From Our Catalog
The PR 15P packs power and full-range sound quality into one compact loudspeaker. This 2-way powered system contains 270 watts of bi-amped power. A separate amplifier for each speaker provides crystal clear sound even at very high levels. 200 watts powers the heavy-duty 15 inch woofer and 70 watts is dedicated to the RX 14 compression driver. Both amplifiers feature DDT compression, which virtually eliminates audible power amplifier clipping. The enclosure utilizes tough polypropylene in an injection-molded plastic trapezoidal form, with a coated steel grille to offer an eye-pleasing yet durable powered speaker system. The PR 15P has a built-in three-channel mixer with individual level controls for XLR or 1/4 inch connections. Molded-in handles provide ease of transport while multiple mounting points for pole stand and Peavey Versamount brackets make it perfect for installs. The Peavey PR 15P has a variety of applications such as sound reinforcement, public address, side fill system, karaoke, or musical playback. It also makes an excellent stage monitor and can be easily added to an existing sound system.
