Product Description

As a guitarist, you know that iDea's come and go. Retrofit your guitar with the iDea preamp/pickup and never worry about losing another inspired riff. The iDea Pickup is perfect for both writers and beginners, finally offering the ability to both Record and Play mp3 files. With this preamp installed, you can record and save musical inspiration on-the-spot or jam along to files saved into the guitar to aid in practicing licks or learning songs. Ovations iDea gives you the ability to learn songs at your own speed, thanks to a built in preamp that has a pitch-stable speed adjust function allowing change tempo of the mp3 files without changing the key.

Play or Record mp3 files
Uploading and downloading MP3 files to your computer is a breeze. The iDea features an on-board USB connection so you can connect to your computer and store recorded files or recall files for practicing Licks from your favorite artists.

Not computer Savvy?
Use this preamp to record and store your favorite backing tracks or other play-along material. Connect any line-level player or mixer and record your tracks into the straight into iDea's memory.

Sound: I think this preamp is quite amazing and does exactly what Ovation states it does. The downloaded loops are great as are the loops included with the preamp. It fits 2 of my guitars and is a great practicing and song writing tool. Feature: May use a bit of battery since it must be lit when viewing and manipulating the device. Ease of Use: Standard processes in learning the system but after this period it's a breeze to operate. Quality: So far so good after a year or so. Value: A bit expensive but I guess this is expected for this type of preamp. I received my at no cost when purchasing a high-end Ovation guitar at a guitar show.
