Crank the Overdrive channel's Gain control to the max and you have a contemporary high gain sound that packs an unbelievable punch, staying tight and focused thanks to the carefully designed closed back cabinet. What is AVT
In Marshall's quest to give players the ultimate tone at a realistic price, they have combined the latest innovations in valve, solid state, and digital technologies to achieve optimum sonic performance. AVT has evolved from their original, critically acclaimed Marshall Valvestate technology, but is vastly improved so it emulates the tone, feel, and response of their world-renowned, all-valve amplifiers with unerring accuracyá without using valves in the power stage.

Marshall's long history and experience in the field of valve amplification was utilized in the development of the new AVT power amp. This extremely responsive and warm-sounding circuitry was then coupled with the specially voiced, ECC83 (a.k.a 12AX7) valve-driven pre-amp section, to provide 100% valve/analog warmth from input to output. Combined with numerous user-friendly features, they believe to have created the best value-for-money range of Marshall amplifiers ever!

Valve Drive Pre-Amp
From the compact AVT20, right up to the thunderous roar of the feature packed, 4-channel AVT150H, each model in their brand new AVT line boasts a pre-amp stage that is driven by an ECC83 Dual Triode valve. Unlike certain other hybrid amps out there, this valve isn't merely acting as a pilot light. Instead, it is playing the central role in the gain, distortion, and tone-generating circuitry. They have gone to great lengths to ensure that this precious device delivers maximum sonic benefit at all settings and volume levels. The resulting clean sounds ring with the bell-like harmonics that only a valve pre-amp can deliver and the break-up is never harsh or unnatural sounding. Whenever you select an AVT Overdrive channel, the ECC83 is saturated to its limit, providing dynamics and feel worthy of a place in the Marshall hall of fame.

Power Amp Delivery
The same, unrivalled design expertise that went into the pre-amp was also channeled into the design of the AVT power stage. Using frequency dependent power amp damping and their proprietary, dynamic clip level technology (which emulates the HT supply of a valve power amp), each AVT power stage creates the warm, musical feel, and 3-dimensional sounds that made Marshall's all-valve power amps world-renowned.

Also all AVT products will deliver the goods in the often hostile and unpredictable environment of the live performance stage - which is why the AVT power amps of 50 watts and up are fan cooled for optimum reliability.

DFX Onboard
The AVT100, AVT150, AVT150H, and AVT275 all have onboard DFX (Digital Effects). Here the greatest care was taken to ensure that the highest level of signal integrity was maintained at all times. They achieved this by successfully integrating DFX into the tonal topology of AVT without adding any of the nasty-sounding, artificial "grain" often associated with DFX. To make the 16 custom-voiced DFX as controllable and user-friendly as possible the relevant models are all supplied with an LED equipped foot controller, which allows you to switch the amp's DFX on and off, as well as change channels.

The flexibility of the AVT150, AVT150H, and AVT275 is further enhanced by having 2 DFX sections, 1 for the Clean and Acoustic Simulator channels, and the other for the 2 Overdrive channels.

Extended Response Loudspeakers
Knowing the importance of the relationship between power amplifiers and loudspeakers, Marshall have worked extremely closely with Celestion to develop a range of speakers that will re-define the cutting edge in rock guitar reproduction. These speakers allow the compact, closed back cabinets used in the Valvestate 2000 AVT range to maintain the bottom end delivery normally associated only with a full 4x12 extension cabinet set-up.

"CHECK THIS AMP OUT! IT ROCKS!"
Feature:
It comes with a standard footswitch 2 eq's for the clean, and 3 eq's for the gain. it would have been cool for the clean channel to have a separate reverb and other cool effects like its bigger brother: the avt150, but i don't reaaly need all that. i just want to play straight rock and roll! it's a matter of choice really, but it is more important for the amp to sound good than have a bunch of digital effects. one thing i have to complain about is when you switch over from distortion to clean while still sustaining a note a loud "popping" sound will occur for a second. it kind of annoying, but it can be easily avoided. The construction is great (solid as a rock) and you can barely hear the circulation fan that cools the amp.

Quality:
you get a 5 year warranty, so i'm not that worried. and everything seems to work fine.

Value:
i'd say its a little expensive, but you get for what you paid for!

Desirability:
I just love the way it sounds and feels. i think it will help me progress as a better musician and explore deeper tones in different amps and instruments. it was a great investment.

Sound:
Powerful and crisp clean & classic marshall crunch! This amp is loud and clear! I love the clean channel and how it responds to every note. I play a standard strat and it doesn't have that bright, fake, solid-state sound that hurts your ears, but is smooth and regulated. The tube in the pre-amp makes so much difference between the other MG (marshall) series. the tube adds so much more dimension to the clean and gain channels. the bass is terrific and since it has a closed back design you get deeper tones. when you turn this up you can really hear the vibrations in your bones! I have a boss ds-1 pedal, but I DON'T NEED IT ANYMORE! for the money, although not inexpensive, i can't complain. i give it a 10.

Support:
can't say that i have dealt with marshall.

Overall:
I had a fender champ30 and it just wasn't loud or clear enough to hear over a drummer and other sounds, so i looked and looked a found this marshall to be my best bet. i don't need a huge stack right now... although i would prefer a mode 4... but the marshall is great and loud and it rocks!

Marshall AVT50 Guitar Amp Customer Review
If you always wanted a Marshall amp and you think you can't afford it and rather buy a solid state amp - forget it. I've owned the Prineton Chorus from Fender -solid state- and it alway gave me a hum and a buzz. This AVT50 is the best amp your money can buy when watching the dollars. It's worth every penny and it kicks ass. Nice and clean and warm sounds. The Overdrive is a Sweet Kicker. I use it for my Takemine acoustic and my new Custom Strat. Which were both gotten from [where i bought](THE AVT50 and the Strat). My local guitar shop couldn't meet the pricing and was 25 miles to get to. I shopped from home and the delivery was fast and free (I recieved mine the Next Day, Maybe because they shipped it from NJ and I live in NJ). Why go anyplace else? Buy the Amp. You will not be disappointed
