The unit is a class-compliant MIDI device under Mac OS X and Windows XP, so you'll never need extra drivers to make it interface with your favorite DJ applications, soft synths or DAWsfrom Ableton Live and Traktor DJ Studio to Pro Tools M-Powered and more. For example, you can easily assign the crossfader on the X-Session Pro to the crossfader within Ableton Live and add a new dynamic to your live performances or studio work. With a digital DJ application like Traktor, you can assign the various level, EQ and crossfader controls to the X-Session Pro. The possibilities are virtually endless.

Today's powerful laptop computers have brought near limitless options to DJs and performing electronic musicians. But the combination of a mouse and keyboard is not the most natural or musical interface for live performance. The X-Session Pro fuses the standard controls of a two-channel DJ mixer with the transport and pitch controls of a turntable or DJ CD player, enabling you to control everything from a single interface. The mixer controls allow you to adjust level, cueing and EQ, plus make smooth crossfades, while the integrated transport and pitch controls allow you start, stop and beat-match digital files within software applications.

"Great Mixer For All Purposes"
Feature: The X-Session Pro DJ mixer is awesome. I've been using it for a year, and it does everything it needs to do. It has all the features I need as a DJ/Mixer for my band. On stage it works flawlessly with my laptop and in the studio on my PC, both using Torq software. Ease of Use: This mixer is simple yet complex, it is small and easy to use, but it does so much! It is easy to understand; it's similar to all mixers. Quality: Dang! This thing is tough! The 3rd month I had it, I dropped it down a whole flight of stairs and it didn't have a sctch on it. It withstands abuse in the studio by the other members of my band who don't know how to treat my gear... thanks a lot, guys... Value: For it's simplicity, I'd say this mixer is just a smidge overpriced. Manufacturer Support: Haven't needed it, probably never will. Overall: This is a great mixer for the price. Good functionality, good features, good compatibility. All around my favorite peice of equipment in the studio.

Sound: Doesn't make sound. Feature: Comes with everything you need. Not a knob, slider, or button is wasted. Crossfader is wonderful. Ease of Use: Very easy to assign, no programming to worry about. It's programmed for Torq and can be easily adjusted according to your preference. Programming to DAW's is easy. Works wonderfully in Ableton. Quality: It's plastic and very lightweight. Haven't had any problems with it. Value: Not much out there to compare, so the price is good. Torq was free with mine so I would have to say yes. Manufacturer Support: Haven't needed to. The Wow Factor: Looks fine. Overall: I'll use this until it breaks, I'll replace it if it does. I've gotten used to using it in Ableton and Torq. Good for the road and the bedroom studio. Mapped it with no problem to VST's as well.
Style of Music: Ambient, experimental.
