Manufacturer's Description for Martin DC16GTEP Premium Dreadnought Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar (with Case)

This acoustic electric version of the D16GT model has the addition of a cutaway and an onboard Fishman® Prefix Premium Blend preamp. It features the same solid mahogany construction and bracing.

With the flick of a switch, the Premium Blend offers TRS/stereo or mono signal paths for the system's under-saddle pickup and internal gooseneck microphone. In addition, the streamlined Premium Blend has a defeatable notch control and a chromatic tuner. Includes hardshell case.

Martin 16 Series
This well-established and innovative all solid wood 16 Series was originally conceived and developed as an experiment in delivering better sound without higher cost by using a combination of our proprietary bracing systems, called "Hybrid" X-bracing, on a solid wood instrument. Martin succeeded, and the guitar has become a longtime Martin favorite.

Standard features for the 16 Series generally include solid wood top, back and sides, patented neck mortise, and "Hybrid" X-bracing. Enhanced visual appointments common on the SP or Special 16 Series models usually are found on much higher priced models, including full body gloss finish, abalone pearl rosette, and abalone fingerboard inlays. zZounds is an authorized dealer of Martin products.

"I played 8 Martins and this was the best one of all!"
Sound: The sound is sweet and even. Feature: Three pickups gives it the best sound in any environment. Quality: The woods work very well together. Not a lot of frills like mother of perl and such but they aren't needed. It's a soundly made guitar that will last for years. Value: You can't find many guitars in this price range to beat this one...if any!
