The new DFX mixers are designed specifically for solo or small performing groups that don't have the luxury of a front-of-house sound technician?those die-hard do-it-yourselfers that manage their own set-up and tear-down while possessing the uncanny ability to simultaneously make music and control their own audio mix. All knobs are color-coded and can be easily identified at a glance. Channel faders are white. Effects and Monitor Sends are red. Master level faders are blue. The jack field is on the top surface so connections are immediate and every channel has a Level Set and Overload LED that can be effortlessly seen on a dark stage.

Extremely easy to use, these new mixers are also equipped with all of the same features that have made Mackie mixers the standard for working musicians. Both new DFX include a combination of mic/line and stereo line inputs, silky smooth 60mm faders, and Mackie Designs' proprietary 32-bit EMAC custom digital effects processor with 16 effects. Each mixer also offers low-noise, low-distortion, studio-grade, 5-band stereo program equalizers wrapped in a box rugged enough to withstand years of on-the-road wear and tear.

"The new DFX mixers are a great addition to our existing product line," stated Ivan Schwartz, Corporate Director, Global Sound Reinforcement Product and Market Development at Mackie Designs, Inc. "They are the most affordable mixers in the Mackie family and offer an exceptional mixture of features and performance."

Mackie DFX12 12-Channel Mixer with Effects Reviews

"Great little mixer for a great price."
Feature:
A mid eq button would have been nice, but then again, the sound is so good that I hardly ever touch the eq. The vocal eliminator only works on songs with mono vocals and mono effects (old songs). Tape in/out is great, monitor out too, etc etc.

Quality:
"Built like a tank", they say. True. (I have no intentions of dropping it or something, but it sure looks and feels sturdy) Very stylish. Not heavy at all (which is good on a mixer!).

Value:
For this price, it's a giveaway!

Desirability:
Cool, stylish. Looks real good in my homestudio.

Sound:
It's a Mackie. You can only tell it's on by looking at the power led. Smooth, great.

Support:
Don't need it. Mackie? Must be good.

Overall:
It's a great little mixer. If you don't need more input's than this, get it now! If it ever dies, I'll buy another Mackie.

"If this mixer was an animal, it would be a donkey"
Feature:
they should have left the effects proccessor, and the vocal eliminator out, ..those are no good. ...i like the fact that it can also run on 220v, ..

Quality:
looks pretty sturdy, ..

Value:
for the going price, i guess you get what you pay for. ....but personally, i really like the behringer's in this range better, ..but they are not famous for their longevity, ...but i really like the behringer's sound, ...and the effects on the behringer are pretty decent and the eq's are even better

Desirability:
this mixer doesn't have sex appeal, ... it's just something to get the job done half way decently, ...you won't be wowed by it ...i personally don't even like looking at it, ..but i use it ...my dad gave it to me as a present

Sound:
it sounds ok in terms of it's core function, ...but the built in effects are hideous, ...i don't know why they even bothered to put that one in,, ...also the vocal eliminator is useless. ....it will get the job done for everything else.

Overall:
i'm not satisfied with this mixer, ..when it dies, i will jump into my car and go to the music store to find something that's better
