Used to make ukuleles for over a century, rare Hawaiian koa is especially prized for its distinctive curly grain. Grown mostly on the big island of Oahu, the gorgeous red-hued wood used for Lanikai's Curly Koa makes these ukuleles look as beautiful as they sound.

This Uke seems very well made and solid. I will take it with me, in a case, wherever I go. It is a beautiful thing and I am very proud of it.

Sound:
I received my Uke today. It sounds very good to my untrained ear. I have just begun learning to play a Ukulele. It sounds better that my Fluke does.
Support:
Since it was made in China I have had no opportunity to deal with the company that made it. I am sure that I would be able to deal with zzounds, should the occasion arise.
Overall:
I plan to keep this Uke for a long time. Should I become more proficient in playing it I may someday buy a solid Koa Ukulele and keep this one for a back-up.
