"Line 6 has a winner!"

Feature:
great feature set, check out the Line 6 Site for more info

Quality:
seems very very well made

Value:
$589.00 for a blem - this amp will kick your a**

Desirability:
has a vintage look - but the absolutely sexiest feature is the Bogner logo on the grill :)

Sound:
has to be heard to be believed!!!!!

Ease of Use:
very easy to get up and running quickly, although to take advantage of this amps effect a FBV shortboard is best - I will be ordering one soon

Support:
can not rate as I have not contacted support

Overall:
I ordered the spider valve on monday and recieved it tuesday - and that was ground shipped!!! as a long time user of the original Pod Pro (eeprom 1.41) I had a pretty good idea of what to expect. The guitar input on the pod stopped working this last weekend so I went shopping for a combo amp, spent many many hours pouring over reviews and settled on the spider valve. Figuring if I did not like it I could always return it to zzounds. after 2 minutes of playing thru it with my rg7620 holy sh**. You would have to pry this puppy from my cold dead fingers, this is without a doubt the best sounding amp I have ever heard. The artist/song presets are ok but require slight tweaking for optimal sound. I can not believe how good this amp sounds, after playing the Pod Pro thru a reference amp and monitors I am ready to not bother fixing my pod and tossing it in the trash. I used to scoff at the "tone Snobs" but after using the valve I have been converted. This is a slippery slope, heh heh heh.

"A great match of tubes and solid-state."

Feature:
No accessories included - though they are available. Plenty of built-in features I at 1st avoided, and now once I started playing with them I just love having! Nothing beats dialing just a certain sound, and then being able to store it for later retrieve at the touch of a button. SO, I can store a real nice setup for my Martin that sounds just like it unplugged (just louder!), and then I will switch to something else I stored with "a bit more" (or a lot more) for the Les Paul. My son also has his own settings for his Squier (when I let him use it) with all the efx he likes to play with. I haven't even explored the presets included in the box. Real tubes, Celestion speaker, plenty of tone control, boost, presence, master volume and channel volume, and even a few effects - what more could a person want?

Quality:
Fit and finish are excellent. No QC problems. I will have to see over the long haul, but so far so good. Once thing I really like is that all the knobs are just right "sensitive"-wise; they offer complete control (esp compared to the Crate Valve) over their range - awesome! No slop, no deadbands - great quality here. Not sure of the longevity of tubes on the road, this is for my home use. It will be fine for me!

Value:
A GREAT sound for the money, with plenty of features to keep gear-heads and tone junkies busy. It was a bit more then I originally intended, but well worth the cost in my opinion...( once I asked myself "why connect a $2000 Gibson to a cheap amp?"). The more I use it the more I am thrilled with my selection. This one would be hard to beat value-wise.

Desirability:
Astetics are nuts on. The size is right, the LEDS and display and options are all sweet bonuses to the great sound. Just setting up/tweaking the amp is part of the fun. VERY nice layout and controls. I admit the Ampeg I looked at was sexier, but this offers so much more and is still pretty sexy too!

Sound:
Went looking for an amp that 1st and foremost would let the clean sound of my LP shine. Extras were not all that important to me. I settled on tube after some comparisons (originally in an effort to save some $$) between some solid states and other tubes. This Line 6 was a REAL pleasant surprise at the end of my hunt; when set to clean with just the basics, it sounded better then an Ampeg, Crate, an Epiphone, etc. I closed my eyes and listened to others play and settled on the Line 6 easily.

Ease of Use:
Getting great sounds is easy; but some thought is involved in storing them and then getting at them, but that is what the manual is for! Read it - it is worth it to get all this amp offers. Some hidden features if desired will mean keeping that manual handy. Overall not too bad once I knew a bit more of what was what.

Support:
Web site has tons of nice info, have not needed to contact Line 6 yet.

Overall:
This one will be a keeper for a long time. I just don't see myself needing or wanting more. As discussed above the clean sounds available from this amp were just what I was looking for, and better then comparable products I tried. As I grow musically I expect to appreciate it even more, and have already enjoyed messing with it more then I thought. I would replace it with another. I like the sound that comes out of it the most. I like the weight the least - but really it isn't bad!
