Description
Docs, Multimedia
If you like warm, full-bodied overdrive, Crunchtone features three juicy models: Blues, Pop and Crunch. Based on Line 6's arsenal of power tube overdrive models, Crunchtone also give you a simple yet versatile tone control for easy tweaking, and a built-in Noise Gate.

Model Switch
Switching this instantly reconfigures Crunchtone. You get three of the juiciest overdrive sounds this side of Tejas!

Blues - Designed to produce a glassy, snappy 6L6-style overdrive tone for playing the blues.

Pop - Just the thing when you need a nice, 60's-style Class-A pop/rock bark.

Crunch - Gives a punchy, slightly compressed overdrive tone, much like what you'd get from a British-style full stack amp-and-cab setup.

Gate
Switching this instantly reconfigures Crunchtone. You get three of the juiciest overdrive sounds this side of Tejas!

Off - Disables the Gate.

Gate 1 - A soft and mild noise gate, self-adjusting to your current Drive knob setting (cool, huh?).

Gate 2 - A heavy, fast-clamping gate. Great for those aggressive metal chords and palm muting.

Controls
Level - This sets the output level. Crunchtone has plenty of output to spare, so if you crank the Level knob, you can score some extra overdrive from the amp your feeding it to.

Bass - Add more lows to your sound by turning this knob up, or reduce it by turning the knob down. Point the knob straight up to leave your tone unaltered.

Treble - Just like the Bass knob, only it's working the highs.

Drive - The Drive knob controls the amount of distortion created within your Crunchtone.

Line6 MS3 Crunchtone ToneCore Overdrive Pedal Reviews

"Crunchtone: A solid choice for any guitarist"
Feature:
This pedal has a lot of features. The gate is very impressive, allowing the user to control the amount of feed back for each of the 3 effects. One feature I wish it had was maybe a way to control the loudness so that you could come in slightly distorted right before a chorus and slowly make it louder, but I guess that's what a volume pedal is for.

Quality:
It is very well made and worth every penny. very solid you don't have to be afraid to stomp on it.

Value:
Worth every penny- it's 3 affects in one and they are all solid not like a multi-effects pedal where you get lots of substandard effects.

Desirability:
This pedal doesn't waste time on such shallow things as appearance, it doesn't matter to me how it looks, it's 100 percent about the sound. It is pink, however, maybe black or red would be cooler.

Sound:
I love Line 6's Crunchtone. Under the crunch effect it was so dirty and raw for those big sustaning octave or power chord riffs. Also it is best suited for those rapid fire metal licks if you turn down the drive function. The crunchtone isn't just a distortion pedal, it's got an incredible blues effect in the same vain of Stevie Ray Vaughn's style. Again, those looking for a blues effect with less bite can turn down the drive for a more early-Clapton style blues effect that is as classic as the Cream guitarist himself. Those looking for something that is more of a clean effect can turn to the pop effect. This was my least favorite of the three effects but then again I have friends that use it alot for clean portions of their songs. The only real downside to this pedal is that when I'm going from clean to distortion, the sound gets so much louder that I seem to overbear the people I'm playing with. They should've made it match the same level as my clean. However this is but a small downside to an otherwise solid stompbox.

Support:
I haven't really had any experiences with Line 6 but if their service is as good as their quality we'll be in good shape.

Overall:
This product will be my effects pedal forever. If it breaks or gets stolen I'll simply buy a new one. Line 6 really did a great job with this one.

"Finally, a digital pedal worthy of purists!"
Feature:
This had no power supply. That's my only complaint. There are no useless settings on this box. The features and knobs are well tailored to meet a variety of guitarists' needs.

Quality:
This thing is built like a tank, and weighs about as much.

Value:
No equal in the price bracket. Not even the TS808 (I know someone was offended by that, try it out!). I used to be a analog pedal purist, and still am for delay and whatnot. Not so in my distortion department. This replaces a Tim and a Klon (yes, both of them).

Sound:
It drops a little bit of the lows at the extremes, but then again, what distortion pedal doesn't? I absolutely adore the sound of this pedal. It's versatility is unmatched in the price bracket (under $200)

Support:
Never dealt with them.

Overall:
I sat down, played through ti for a few minutes, took it home, plugged into my Les Paul/Vox/EV rig, and WOW! The only possible replacement is a Dr. Distorto or another Crunchtone.
