Through design, PRX500 delivers the power, performance and simplicity you need in a package that's been designed to move.

Compact and powerful, the PRX518S offers the performance of an 18 in. subwoofer in a package not much larger than a typical 15 in. sub. With a pole receptacle (that accepts a SS3-BK) on the top panel and integrated stereo pass-thru, with selectable HP filter, this is the perfect compliment to the PRX500 full-range systems. Configured with a PRX512M or PRX515; the result is a highly transportable, high performance subsatellite system. The addition of a polarity reverse options further enables system optimization.

The PRX518 is a high performance self-powered compact subwoofer system. The PRX518S is comprised of a 2044E 460 mm (18 in.) VGC• (Vented Gap Cooled) woofer driven by a Crown International Class-D digital power amplifier. A propriety DSP chip is at the core of a fully featured input section, providing user selectable crossover functionality, polarity optimization, protection, dynamic limiting and discrete component optimization.

The enclosure is constructed of quality plywood and coated in JBL's rugged DuraFlex(TM) finish. An integrated pole mount on the top enables an easy sub/satellite configuration. The CNC-machined steel grille wraps around the sides of the enclosure so there are no protruding lips on the front of the box to create acoustical interference. The grille is also lined with an acoustically transparent foam to provide additional driver protection.

The amplifier input panel offers stereo inputs with XLR or 1/4 in. jack compatibility. A user selectable crossover ensures a smooth transition to full-range system connected to the stereo outputs. Signal present and overload lights indicate the system status and assist in setting the optimum level, via the level control knob. zZounds is an authorized dealer of JBL products.

Sound: Very crisp tight punchy bass. I just djed a party in a bar that fits about 300 people in it and the bass was felt in every corner. Excellent woofer for sound reenforcement. Ease of Use: Plug and play, the crown amp drives this woofer with ease. Quality: Ridget construction yet lighter then the 15" mackie sub Value: 20 dollars less then the 15" mackie, yet it has an 18" woofer The Wow Factor: Very slick design, and the jbl/crown logo light up which looks great. Overall: overall great sound, good price and built to last. i'm definetly buying another one.

Sound: This is my first sub. Once I hooked eveything up properly, the sound quality was good. You get the THUMP! I DJ twice a week, and weekend gigs. Very portable, and it looks good. I am happy so far with this product. I want a second one now. I use this sub outside for a cookout, on 2 to 3 acres and the sound will still good. Feature: Light weight....I can carry this sub by myself. Big sound little wieght. Ease of Use: When I first use the sub for a party, I was very unhappy with the sound. I was ready to send the back quick. Come to found out....I did not have them hooked up correctly. On my next gig, I hook everything thing up by the book, and the sound was amazing. I only have one right now, but you would have thought I had two. Quality: The styling is very professional. The JBL logo lights up, when the power is on. It looks heavy, but it is not. You will get 2 thumbs up for the look of the sub. Value: So far they are worth price....Good sound, Great look, Light weight...BIG PLUS!! Manufacturer Support: So far I have not had to use them.....The JBL website gave me enough information to set this baby up. I print the manuals and everything. My first JBL experince. The Wow Factor: You will have a professional image with this sub. Overall: I hope to have this sub for a least 8-10 years. I may upgrade, but I would hold on to this sub so far.
