Increased power and a 3-input mini-mixer.

The world's most popular powered speaker - Updated!
JBL introduced the first generation of EON speakers in 1995. Since that time, over 300,000 EON's have been used in clubs, coffee shops, large halls, and outdoor venues around the world. It is the all-time best selling powered-speaker on the planet. The second-generation EON G2 series adds more power and improved versatility to an already proven product.

Even more power
One of the most significant enhancements over the original EON is the increased power stage. EON10 G2's have more power than their predecessors, with 125 Watts going to the low frequency driver. A dedicated 50 Watts feeds the high-frequency driver, as well. You'll have all the headroom necessary to get that little extra boost in volume when the crowd is really digging your set. There's no fear of driving the speaker too hard; all your tone will come through clean and distortion-free.

All-new cooling system
More power means more heat buildup, especially in a small enclosure. JBL's Thermomaster management system helps get rid of the excess heat while keeping the EON10 G2 compact and lightweight. Large heatsinks are too heavy and onboard fans are too noisy, so JBL engineers had to come up with a new cooling method. They decided, since the whole point of a speaker driver is to move air, why not use that principle to their advantage? The power amp is directly connected to an all-aluminum baffle, which provides structural support and draws heat away to special fins read more inside the acoustic ports. As air travels through the ports and across the fins, it naturally dissipates the heat, just like blowing on a spoonful of soup. When you crank up the volume, you're pushing more air. The heat just floats away on the breeze!

Improved mixing control
For singer/songwriters, folk duos, and other small groups, the EON10 G2's improved onboard mixer puts all your sounds together in a portable PA system. Input 1 is a professional-quality XLR connection with mic/line selection. Inputs 2 and 3 consist of a dual 1/4-inch TRS connection that adds keyboards, guitars, drum machines, or CD/MP3 backing tracks to your vocals. Individual mixing controls let you blend your input sources as they travel to the speakers. With an EON10 G2 in one hand, a microphone in the other, and a guitar slung across your back, you're ready to play anywhere.

Loop/mix output
In addition to the input mixer, EON10 G2 speakers have a balanced XLR loop/mix output to build a bigger system, should you need one. Let's say you've been asked to open for a band that has its own PA system. You've got vocals, guitar, and a drum machine, but the PA only has one unused channel. No problem. Tweak your sound using the EON G2's mixer, then push it all out to the PA's free channel. No one has to unplug or re-EQ, and everybody sounds their best. You can also use the loop/mix output to daisy-chain multiple EON speakers together. Use one as a monitor and a second as the front-of-house speaker, or use two EON's with a stereo effects pedal for ping-pong delay on your guitar. Since each cabinet is powered, you don't lose any volume when adding additional speakers.

Lightweight portability
At just 23 pounds, the EON10 G2 is easy to transport to any gig. The 10-inch woofer's neodymium magnet provides high magnetic strength with less weight than traditional woofers, for a truly portable PA system. The cabinet is made with a new copolymer material to further reduce weight while staying durable and scuff-resistant. It's easy to carry, easy to store, and easy to set up. Working musicians get reliable, professional performance for years to come.

JBL EON 10 G2 PA Speaker

JBL EON10 G2
At a winter NAMM show in California, JBL Professional displayed the entire EON G2 second generation of powered speakers. Among the new products being displayed and demonstrated is the EON10 G2 compact powered speaker with 10 in. woofer, increased power, and a 3-input mini-mixer.

The EON10 G2 is ideal for AV applications, smaller musical and spoken word performances, and, when combined with the new EONSUB G2 powered subwoofer, provides a full range sound system for small and medium sized events.

The first generation EON10 was very popular, not only with musicians, but with hotels, meeting planners, AV companies, and just about any application where portable compact sound reinforcement was needed. Its successor, EON10 G2 offers more power, more flexibility, and refined appearance that will make it even more appropriate for its many types of users.

The EON10 G2 has features increased power over the first generation EON 10, with 125 watts for low frequencies and 50 watts for the highs. The 10 in. Differential Drive low frequency driver uses a neodymium magnet for light weight and reduced distortion. The 1 in. JBL 2412 compression driver for the high frequencies features a titanium diaphragm and ferro-fluid cooling.

The EON10 G2 shares the same appearance improvements with its larger companion EON15 G2, including new black exterior material and a mini-mixer with 3 inputs. An additional XLR output allows EON Speakers to be daisy-chained together. As with other EON G2 speakers, the EON10 G2 is kept cool, not by heatsinks or fans, but by JBL's Thermomaster Total Thermal Management System.

With its versatile cabinet design, the EON10 G2 can be used in several different ways. As a front of house speaker, the EON10 G2 can sit on a flat horizontal surface or be raised in the air using standard tripod speaker stands. The cabinet has also been designed to let the EON10 G2 be snugly placed atop the EONSUB G2 for added volume and extended bandwidth. In addition, the angled back of the speaker allows its use as a vocal or instrument monitor onstage.

Overall I love it. I'd buy another one in a second. Very happy with my decision.
Sound
Incredibly clear sound. I'm glad I spent the extra money and bought this speaker over cheaper ones. The high end is not harsh like most throat-compression drivers, and the top end response is far beyond what you would expect from a PA speaker. I would be happy using these on an audiophile home system. There is no audible hiss or noise, the internal amp is very quiet. Low end is very good, considering it's only a 10" driver. The internal amps (it's bi-amped) run out of headroom long before you reach the limits of the drivers. Clipping is very gradual, you have to overdrive it considerably before you actually hear any artifacts.
Features
Little two channel mixer works well, although the tiny knobs are tough to adjust in the dark - you're better off setting them at a given level beforehand and leaving them, or using an external mixer to ride levels.
Ease of Use
Doesn't get much easier. Plug it in, plug in your mic, turn it on, sing.
Quality
Extremely high quality. The cabinet is light, but strong. Everything feels top quality. Top marks.
Value
It's more expensive than other similar sized and powered speakers - but once you hear it, you'll know what your extra dollars paid for.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had to deal with support, and don't expect to - it's JBL.
The Wow Factor
Come on now, it's a speaker. What are you going to do, play bass and sit on it? It's practical, it works, it sounds good.
