The Jackson Pro RR3 Randy Rhoads model has its rootes in the very early days at Jackson. The late, great Randy Rhoads approached them with a design idea based on the classic "V". Together they created a whole new rock and roll icon. This version features an Alder body with a Flame Maple veneer top (on transparent finishes), Seymour Duncan humbuckers, a 25.5 in. scale bolt-on Maple neck and a compound radius Rosewood fingerboard with 22 jumbo frets. Also, black hardware including a Jackson Low Profile double locking tremolo. Made in Japan.

Jackson RR3 Randy Rhoads Electric Guitar Reviews

85 People rated this product :

"A guitar given by the god himself."
Feature:
A double locking Floyd Rose-lisenced trem and ACTUAL Seymore Duncan pickups (not Duncan Designed) make it my favorite out of my guitars. The crimson swirl paint job is breath taking. I get so many compliments for it, it's crazy as hell!

Quality:
The pickups are amazing, the trem works beautifully, and it just overall kicks ass.

Value:
For all the stuff on it and the price i paid for it, it was worth every cent!

Desirability:
You know you want one.

Sound:
This thing sounds AMAZING! It has awsome sound out of any amp, even a little 10 watt practice amp.

Ease of Use:
It plays really smooth and feels nice. The ONLY downside of the entire guitar is that it's body shape makes it hard to play when you're sitting.

Support:
What support? Don't need any.

Overall:
Overall, this is an amazing guitar. If it was good enough for Randy Rhoads (even though he didn't live to see it's production), it's good enough for anyone.

"Born to be shredded"
Feature:
When I got it from the store it was tuned in standard E, yet I wanted thicker strings on it for lower tunning and it was a bit of work setting up the tension of the coils holding the floyd rose so it would sit up straight. It comes with 3 coils, 2 installed and 1 in the box next to the guitar.

Quality:
My model is a RR3 BK, simple black , i just like it that way, unless you want to impress your friends with looks rather than music it won't sound any better if you pay extra money for an RR3 with artworks and/or designs on it. If the strings a locked in you can bend the strings like hell, push or pull on the floyd rose (either way if u set it up right) like crazy and even smash in the bridge with your fist and IT WON'T GO OUT OF TUNE (belive me i've tryed it) wich is why I'll give it a 10 at this section.

Value:
It's a damn valuable guitar for it's price. It's the next best thing to an expensive RR1.

Desirability:
I bought it without even ever touching it or any similar model before. It was a risk but now i'm glad I have it. And hell-yeah I like going on-stage with it. Also it has that "guitar-hero" looks that always makes you want to shred the s**t out of it.

Sound:
I am a hudge fan of Dimebag Darrel's crunchy razor-sharp sound and this guitar together with a proper amp (tube amp ofcourse) and effects (analogs, not the digital bull***t) really comes close to that sound. I'm not sure yet if I will change the JB pickup that comes with it with an SH-13 dimebucker because it really sounds great as it is. Overall the RR3 has a great sound for it's price.

Ease of Use:
It is a bit of a "challenge" to play it sitting down yet I don't think anyone even looks at this guitar thinking that they would want to sit down with it. The neck is a bit thicker than my other guitar (an Ibanez GRX70 BK) yet I got used to it pretty quick.

Support:
Never did and I hope I'll never have to.

Overall:
It looks great, it sounds great, and when it comes to playing ...it plays great.
