Feature:
Having a floyd rose can be annoying but they're so fun,
Quality:
would definetly use a backup, seems like sometihng could go wrong
Value:
This guitar should be 400 because of the okay quality
Desirability:
I dont really want this guitar sound wise, i want it because that volume knob would be the PERFECT place for a custom killswitch. i'm actually probly gonna go for the shecter c-1 fr because of those awesome active EMGs. but ya, if you like tom morello or buckethead you should get this guitar and add in a custom killswitch. All you gotta do is buy a $5 momentary on/off button at radio shack. then wire to seperate wires one on one prong of the button and the other on the other prong. then just take those to wires and wire one up to the ground on your jack input and one on the hot. it dont matter wich. then when you press the button you will get a short mute. and you can be a tom morello jr.
Sound:
The emg's are nice but could be upgraded to some better pickups. sounds average,
Ease of Use:
A lot of people complain about that volume nob right next to the pickup, but actually that would be great for me because you can open up the back, take out that knob and put in a custom killswitch, it would be right in reach! Perfect, you could move the volume with the tone, put it inside the body at 10, or just drill a new hole
Support:
never had to deal wit it
Overall:
I would probalby not buy this guitar due to the fact of not the best sound and stuff. but that idea for that killswitch right there is a perfect place. SO really if you are just an intermediate player upgrading, and you like tom morello then buy this.

Feature:
The most useful feature has got to be the body shape. I briefly owned a DKMG but absolutely hated the archtop body because it doesn't have a contour where you would normally anchor your picking hand's forearm, my arm got sore fast. The DXMG has a flat body, with a contour there, I love it.
The most annoying feature is the reverse headstock. It looks cool, but it's not very practical. And considering you'll be spending a lot of time tuning the guitar trying to get the Floyd Rose set up, it would work better being straight up.
I love the sharkfin inlays. The piranha ones on the DKMG looked dumb, the standard Jackson sharkfins are awesome.
I also wish Jackson offered it in more colors, but the gun metal gray is pretty cool looking, and a little less boring that black.
Quality:
So far I haven't really seen any problems. One of the nut screws was off when I got it, but they never tighten them down at the factory so I guess it can be expected. I just put it back in and tightened it down.
Value:
You can get more guitar for your money with an Ibanez. For the price as this one, Ibanez has a nice quilt top with a nice matching headstock. However, nobody, in my opinion, can touch Jackson's necks. They're amazing. So if you want a pretty guitar, look at Ibanez, but if you want playability, get a Jackson.
Desirability:
It's pretty sexy in terms of features, just wish they offered more colors. I would have loved to get it in transparent red.
Sound:
The sound is a little better than most passive pickups I've heard. Still not as good as active pickups.
Ease of Use:
I had to adjust the action right when I got it, but I was able to get it down without very much buzz. I rated ease of use a little low just because the Floyd Rose is a pain to get set up. Once you get there, and get it all locked down, it's awesome. So the 6 doesn't reflect this guitar necessarily, but Floyd Roses in general.
Support:
Try to find a contact number for Jackson on their website -- you won't. But after some research you'll learn that they are owned by Fender, so you can just email them at their site and they'll help you out.
Overall:
Provided the neck holds out, I hope to get 10 years out of this one. If it got lost or stolen, I'd have to take a look to see what Jackson offered at the time, but I would definitely replace it with another Jackson.
