"It would be great if it worked"

In the process of setting up my live rig, which needed to merge at least 2 inputs, this unit failed to meet muster. It would not contact my Line6 Stomp HX through MIDI no matter what I tried. I went instead with a MIDI Solutions Quadra Merge which did exactly as it promised with no fuss.
