Ibanez DS7 Tone Lok Distortion Pedal

No longer available at zZounds
Drive, Tone, and Level knobs.

For 3 decades Ibanez Electronics has created effects the working player could afford, but couldn't afford to be without. If your current boxes aren't having the right "effect" on you, it's time to "lock down" some new tones.

The most versatile Ibanez distortion ever, the DS7 is capable of producing a wide range of smooth, dynamic overdrive tones. From a subtle tonal nudge to walloping rock 'n roll crunch, the DS7 delivers days of sustain and gobs of gain.

Drive, Tone, and Level knobs provide precise effect control.

On the outside, Tone-Lok effects are equipped with the Ibanez exclusive "set and forget" Push-Lok rotary pots. Push the knobs down and your tone settings lock securely inside the case. No more lost settings or knobs broken by ticked off lead vocalists stomping off stage.

On the inside, Tone-Lok pedals feature hi-fidelity components carefully tweaked with the constant input from a new generation of Ibanez players. And all this great stuff comes encased in a cool looking, road tough metal boxes at prices the working player can afford.

Runs on a 9-volt battery or optional AC adapter.

"Good, But no quite good enough"

Overall: 3.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I choose this pedal for its easy to use preference, but is not ideal for recording. I am currently looking for a new pedal to do that, tho this is a very good live situation pedal.
Sound
There is way to much natural noise coming off the circuitry which nakes it very difficult for good quality recording. (Speaking from experience)
Features
The lock in button comes in very useful for live situations. The activation light could be made a litte bigger as it is hard to see in certain lighting conditions.
Quality
Well built, in strong metal casing. My only problem with this pedal is the circuitry noise.
Value
I think BOSS have a better pedal in the DS-1. I dont think this quite lives up the standards on the DS-1 but its well on the way.
The Wow Factor
I have it hooked up to my zoom 707 multi-effect processor, it is perfect putting these together, as the zoom and a range very nice phaser and flange effects, which can be modfied with extensivly with this pedal
