Features
SR5 neck: Only 20.5mm thick at the first fret, 34 in. scale, SR5 & SR6 necks provide more comfortable playing than standard "log" 5 and 6 string necks. The bolted-on All Access neck joint allows the easy access to the upper frets associated with set-in and neck-thru joints.

Agathis body: A relative of Mahogany with similar tonal characteristics, Agathis provides warm lows with strong sustain.

Medium frets: For more fretboard sound and easier note bending.

Standard 5 bridge: Vintage style bridge with simplicity of operation.

DX5N neck pickup: Calibrated for the neck position, the Active Dynamix 5N is an active humbucking pickup with a ceramic magnet with 2 different sized bobbins for even string output. Quiet, dynamic, and punchy.

DX5B bridge pickup: Calibrated for the bridge position, the Active Dynamix 5N is an active humbucking pickup with a ceramic magnet with 2 different sized bobbins for even string output. Quiet, dynamic, and punchy. read more

I don't think I will be buying any other bass, although I might buy the silver one also to keep as a back-up, alt. tuning bass.
Sound
I give it a 9 because the low B seems to not 'pick up' that clearly, but I did buy it second hand, so it might be a pick-up height adjustment. Aside from that, this has got to be one of the better sounding basses out there. Plus, active pick-ups make the difference. Not bad for stock pick-ups!
Features
With all the tone knobs, I feel I can get that ;just right' sound. I had owned an old Ibanez TR-50 (which is an awsome bass for being a 'beginner' bass) and that thing only had 1 volume, 1 tone. So this is ALOT better.
Quality
Well, I'm getting frett buzz, I heightened the bridge, and it took care of alot of it, but I'm still getting some through. I think after I get some different strings it should clear up. But, then again, it might have been something the previous owner screwed up.
Value
Better than alot basses I see between $800-$1,200. For it's cost, and because it's a 5-string, you really can't find a better bass. The stock active pick-ups really are amazing for being stock. over all, unless you want to pay over a grand, get this bass!
Manufacturer Support
never had to deal with them.
The Wow Factor
I got the black model, and with all the black, and the chrome acessories, it has a real nice look. plus it's aerodynamic-like, so its sleek and smooth to the touch.
