The Ibanez SJ300 is a perfect example: A lower bout width of 16.5" downsizes the body just slightly, making it more comfortable for the player who can't quite wrap around a conventionally sized hollow body -- and yet the SJ300 manages to provide more than enough full, round, traditional jazz tone.

Much of that luscious tone is due to the SJ300's solid Spruce top, Flamed Maple back and sides, and solid, 5-piece Maple/ Walnut set-in neck. A bound Ebony fingerboard offers elegant Pearl/ Abalone block inlays, and medium frets, given the Artstar Fret Edge treatment, for faster, smoother, playing. Jazz fans will recognize the original Ibanez Super 58 Customs as the pickup preferred by numerous jazz luminaries for use in their own Signature models.
