Sound: Excellent in high gain settings. Lacking a little high end sparkle on clean settings. Don't expect any "jangle". Good seperation between bridge and neck, middle being my favorite for clean. Feature: Pretty simple, two pickups & three way switch. All allen wrenches included which is nice if you do your own setups. Fixed bridge is good, easy to string up. Ease of Use: Great action on Wizard neck as in all Ibanez guitars. Powerful pickups, good solid switch. Set up only needed minor adjustments. Quality: Very well made for the money; better than others in this price range. Some sharp edges on the frets,but they will wear off with use. If anyone has a problem w/ fretboard edges they have technique issues. Once again remember what you paid for this. Any production guitar will have minor issues in this price range. Good buy for the money. Value: I got a great deal on a returned item. I would have paid full asking price from this retailer. Manufacturer Support: Don't know. Usually fix it myself or deal w/the retailer. The Wow Factor: I play a large variety of music and use mostly single coil and acoustic instruments and needed a high gain guitar for periodic use. This is a great looking guitar, lightweight and great sound for any "heavy" sounds you may need. Much preferred over Gibson wannabes and ergonomically comfortable. Overall: Very happy with this purchase. Could be used w/out backup if you are in a hard rockin band. Well balanced, comfortable to play and black mirror finish looks good on stage. If it were lost or stolen would look for another at good price. Good enough for Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, John Scofield, George Benson & Bob Weir, good enough for you.

zZounds has verified that this customer bought this product from us. "Bargain Axe with Potential for Excellence"
Sound: I had to re-tweek my amp for this axe. Whereas the EMGs are kinda muddy on my Schecter mahogony fixed, on this one they were almost tinny and lacking bottom end. I will not downtune this one in the current configuration, so using it for Drop D which is sufficient. It was factory setup to standard tuning. Feature: I am completely in love with the Gibraltar bridge. As a former Strat player, I enjoy the flat and flush feel. And the adjustability surpasses that of a standard fixed bridge. Kudos Ibanez. However, the pots are very cheap and unresponsive. First upgrade will def be the pots. Shame on you for these, Ibanez. Tuners are adequate. Ease of Use: After a coupla plays, the factory setup seems spot on. Intonation and action are set nicely. I was jamming all over this pup right out of the box. I utilize D'Addario stings, so that helped to have them on already. Easily the most playable axe out of my many straight from the factory. As mentioned, the pots make it difficult to dial in a decent sound overall. Quality: The finish was disappointing, a flaw in the paint in a spot that is viewed from above, lending a constant reminder of lesser quality while playing. I couldn't bring myself to pay to have it shipped back for an exchange so I am keeping it despite the flaw. Still, not cool. The neck is gonna need a fret dress due to some rough edges. The body is heavy and solid, the neck wood is smooth. Zero full complaints considering the price. Value: For the price, this axe is a steal!!!!! Even putting some bucks into some personal/preferential upgrades, I still feel the price highly underminds the quality and playability. For a fixed bridge design, it shall soon potentially become my favorite rhythm machine. Manufacturer Support: No comment as I haven't utilized this. The Wow Factor: I purposely selected the white version as I find it to be very attractive, with the black hardware colors offsetting it. Yum yum. Very gig worthy. I showed pics of it to some ladies at work and they writhed and moaned a little. Uh huh...But as I am a rhythm player, the overall design is right where I need her. Paint flaw aside Overall: I will upgrade the pots and do some pickup changes to get the right blend for sound, as well have the frets dressed. As long as the tone is more to my suitage after that, this one has the potential to become my mainstay for standard-scale guitars. If you are a beginner or intermediater, jump on this quickly.
