For 2003, the RG guitar line - the unchallenged standard in hard and heavy rock guitars -- gets a massive infusion of high tech hardware and upgrades. The classic RG550 and RG570 models (now RG1550 and RG1570) reach new levels of lethal with the addition of Prestige necks and the new Edge-Pro tremolo system. Many deluxe and standard models have been upgraded with the new Edge-Pro II tremolos. The 2003 lineup offers every kind of instrument needed by the heavy rocker: 6 and 7-string models, neck-thru and bolt-on axes, double locking and standard trems and an equally wide range of prices.

Pickups and pickup placement provide the hard-edged cutting tone needed for heavy rock.

24 fret thin, flat and fast Wizard and Wizard II necks. Rounder Ultra necks available on RGT3120 neck-thru-body models.

Double Edge-Pro models feature piezo elements for adding acoustic guitar tones.

Wizard II neck -- 25.5 scale neck is 2mm thicker than the super-thin, super-flat Ibanez Wizard.

Basswood body -- Basswood is a comparatively lightweight wood, which makes it very comfortable for extended playing. With a good balance of highs and lows, basswood is right in between alder and mahogany in sound character.

Flamed Maple top

24 jumbo frets offer easy playing for leads and chording.

Rosewood finger board offers a strong, bright sound and an attractive appearance with a long grain.

Sound: The best for it's price range, especially for a nice heavy sound. A very full bass sound, but still a nice clear treble. Feature: Comes with the FR (could be good or bad; particularly I don't enjoy it too much), whammy and about a 5 foot cable. Quality: Very nice looks, with reliable equipment, a very sturdy guitar. Value: Very nice price for this guitar. Manufacturer Support: I haven't had anything go wrong with it. Overall: Of course nothing is perfect, but for sure I won't be getting another guitar anytime soon.

"A Bridge above the rest..."

Sound: It has 4 pickups which are wired as humbuckers, with a 5 way selector switch. My guitar sounds better with heavier stings(as they all do). There is little to no noise when the strings are still. Feature: This guitar features the great inovations of Ibanez, It includes the Vibrato Unit featured on their best models. Quality: This Guitar features a professional finish. Value: The features on this guitar are at a fair price. Going for better models is just a finness in the build and electrical components. The bridge(trem unit) was its seller for me. Manufacturer Support: Any questions i had i hunted down answers on the net. Any Expericenced(more that 15yrs) guitarist has great advice. The shop i got it from easy to deal with. The Wow Factor: Unique color than the jet black that most guitarists have. On this guitar it is possible to learn how to play great. Overall: Overall if your looking for a semi-pro guitar this is it. This is not a guitar to knock around as it represents quality.
