The Ibanez RG1550M offers fantastic performance for a great price. With an Edge-PRO tremolo and Wizard Prestige neck, the Ibanez RG1550M can really shred.

As the RG Prestige history continues to be written, players have demanded new specs, new finishes and new thrills. In 2009, Ibanez has responded with the new RG1550M. The Ibanez RG1550M is made in Japan by our finest luthiers and has a fast, flat Prestige neck, drop-dead good looks and a double-locking trem, plus new finishes, a maple fretboard and a new pickup configuration featuring DiMarzio(r) Air Norton(tm), True Velvet(tm) and Tone Zone(r) pickups.

Edge Pro Tremolo

In the last two decades, no other guitar maker besides Ibanez has done so much to advance the art and science of the tremolo. The Edge-PRO represents the next phase in locking tremolos.

To avoid the problem of string holder blocks getting lost during string changes, the Edge-PRO's sliding string holders are actually part of the bridge and won't drop from the saddle unit.

With the Edge-PRO design, there's no need to cut off the ball end of your strings when installing new strings.

The Edge-PRO features a unique Sound Metal Chip on each saddle which helps increase sustain right at the most critical area, the intonation point.

Features

The RG1550M features a 5-piece maple/walnut Wizard Prestige neck with maple fretboard.

The Ibanez RG1550M can dial in any tone, from crystal clear to searing and nasty, thanks to its V7 neck pickup, S1 middle pickup and V8 bridge pickup combination.

Im extremely satisfied. Having owned an RG1570 I already was prepared for how terrible the pickups would be so going into it I knew exactly what I was getting. The RG1550M btw out performs the RG1570 by a long shot.
Sound
This is a tough one to score because I know that sound is more than just pickups. The pickups in this guitar are terrible HOWEVER the guitar itself sounds wonderful. Great combination of woods especially that Maple neck. Has a very bright sound. With a Air Norton, Steve Special, Dsonic, or EMG81 (though may be too sterile sounding) this guitar would REALLY shine.
Features
Included a hardshell custom case, trem bar, and basic tools. Had an instruction manual as well.
Ease of Use
The Edge Pro trem in my opinion is a bit tougher to get perfect than the Floyd Rose.
Quality
Amazing quality on this guitar. The only thing I didn't like was the paint smelled terrible on the guitar. Did I mention this guitar is EXTREMELY LIGHT!!!!
Value
This guitar is a great deal for the dollar. Spend an extra 250 on pickups and locking studs and you easily have an elite guitar.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't needed help from Ibanez EVER and zzounds.com has always been great.
The Wow Factor
Poison Pumpkin and I added a black AN and a Black with Pink Rail Dsonic. It gets tons of attention.
