"Sound and Fury, signifying something."

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
I'm keeping this one. I used to only have one guitar that I would absolutely not part with. Now I have two. If this one ends up broken or missing, I'm replacing it immediately.

Sound
The sound, like the look, is pure vintage. The ceramic P-90 type pickups are a big improvement over the JTK2 humbuckers (I own one of those as well) in that they increase sustain, and don't sound as rubbery as the JTK2 pickups do. It's a tin, pluck sound with a bit of shimmer using both pickups. The sound is more resonant than twangy. Good surf sounds. This guitar loves reverb. Add a little dirt, and it has a unique blues voice with a pop music ethic.

Features
No accessories. Just the guitar. It fits nicely in my generic tweed case. I like this guitar's simplicity: Volume/tone/3-way switch. The strap pegs are bigger than normal so the strap stays on without locks. Nice touch.

Ease of Use
Plug and play. Right out of the box, this guitar tunes up and seems ready to go. Nothing too complicated. The finished neck will slow you down, if you go all over it. Maybe some sandpaper will help there. The tuning pegs and bridge are sturdy. It is lighter than previous Jet King models, and that makes it even more playable from my standpoint.

Quality
I was impressed with how well the frets were finished, especially for a "cheap" model guitar. I don't get really macho read more about price and brand names, what I'm looking for is vibe and reliability, and the JTK30 delivers. It looks stunning and it plays with the comfort of a guitar that you've been sawing away on for years. I am thrilled with this inexpensive gem!

Value
You could pay 5 times more for a guitar and not get a guitar that is 5 times better than this one. Also, a high end guitar can get stolen or broken just as easily as a less expensive one, so go with what you know. I paid $ 250.00 and would have gladly plunked down $ 400.00. This is a tremendous value.

The Wow Factor
This is the sexiest, vibey-est, cool kid, Cadillac, tail-fin guitar I've ever owned. The mint green finish sets it apart and people always ask me where I found it. The white knobs are classy and practical. The over-all vibe exudes confidence, class and a respectful nod to the hot rods of yesteryear.
