Ibanez JS1000 Joe Satriani Electric Guitar (with Case)

No longer available at zZounds
Play with Joe Satriani's tedious specifications. This guitar was built to replicate Joe's need for a modern sound, vintage feel, and fast action.

"I wanted a guitar with a modern sound, but with a vintage feel, with smaller frets and more radius on the fingerboard. It had to be subtle enough to catch nuances, fast and easy to play." -- Joe Satriani in Ibanez - The Untold Story

Features

- The Ibanez JS1000 features a DiMarzio FRED neck humbucker and a PAF-PRO bridge humbucker, allowing players to get the beefy rock tones Satch is famous for.
- Multi-radius Prestige neck (JS1000/JS1200) is an exact digital rendering of the neck on Joe's favorite axe.
- Lightweight aerofoil shaped basswood body provides comfort, upper-fret access and expressive singing tones.
- High-pass filter on JS1000 and JS1200 volume pots maintains highs at low volumes.
- Combination of 25 1/2 in. inch neck scale and DiMarzio or Ibanez Axis pickups provides wide dynamic range and versatility.
- Basswood body: basswood is a comparatively lightweight wood, which makes it very comfortable for extended playing. With a good balance of highs and lows, basswood is right in between alder and mahogany in sound character.
- Rosewood fingerboard: rosewood offers a strong, bright sound and an attractive appearance with a long grain.

I traded a Taylor acoustic for mine, complete with an autograph from Satch. I am extremely satisfied with this all aspects of this guitar, however i am having difficulty with the trem system. I play low tuned with heavy bottom light top EB Slinkys. Makes life difficult, but it's worth it when all things finally line up.
