Steve Vai is one of the biggest names in the Ibanez game, and now with his signature JEM7V, you can harness a legendary axe of ultimate utility. This is Steve Vai's go-to axe -- he's been playing versions of it for over a decade, and you'll see why the minute you shoulder this beauty.

Your JEM7V shines with gold hardware, an elegantly contoured alder body, and a supremely fast five-piece maple/walnut JEM Prestige neck with a beautiful pearl/abalone vine inlay across its 24 frets. Your JEM7V holds two DiMarzio Evolution humbuckers and a DiMarzio single-coil neck pickup for a rich and dynamic sound. Playability and Steve Vai's unmatched tone are coupled together in this indomitable axe.

DiMarzio Humbucker and Single-Coil Combination

Sandwiching a hotter single-coil between two full-sounding humbuckers gives you an array of tone to play around with. Your DiMarzio Evolution DP158 neck humbucker is full and punchy, and your Evolution DP159 bridge humbucker is brighter and aggressive -- great for biting leads. A patented dual-resonance configuration is used in these humbuckers to get more harmonic overtones. In the middle you have an Evolution DPS1 Custom single-coil pickup for a true single-coil sound.

Gorgeous and Lightning-Fast JEM Prestige Neck

If you feel the need for speed, then the JEM Prestige neck is your final stop in the line of fast-action necks. You'll see why Steve Vai uses versions of this guitar so often, once you take this neck for a ride. A longer 25 1/2" read more scale means your strings are a bit tighter and give off a slightly brighter sound. The JEM7V's rosewood fretboard features a beautiful pearl/abalone vine inlay that runs up and down all of your Prestige neck's 24 frets.

Slick and Comfortable Alder Body

Your JEM7V has a lustrously curved alder body that includes a cut-out handle on the top and a deep cut for the lower horn to give your easy access to those higher frets. Alder gives you a clear, full-body sound of lows and mids, but your highs have a little bit more of a bite to them. Adler is also a lighter wood, so you can shoulder this axe in comfort and move freely around as you play.

Five-Way Pickup Selector Blade

Your JEM7V's pickup selector blade gives you five pickup combinations, some of which include a nice and distinct pairing of your humbuckers and your middle single-coil pickup. Your settings are neck (humbucker), neck (single-coil closer to middle) and middle, middle alone, middle and bridge (single-coil closer to middle), and bridge (humbucker).

Attractive and Secure Edge Pro Bridge

You can bend your strings to their limits and dive them low with your whammy bar, and your sustain and intonation will consistently remain unaffected. That's due to the staggering stability of the Edge Pro bridge. Used in combination with the locks at the nut, your intonation will remain for as long as you play.

Features:

- Five-piece maple/walnut JEM prestige bolt-on neck
- Contoured alder body
- Rosewood fingerboard of 24 frets with pearl/abalone vine inlay
- Secure and flexible Edge Pro bridge
- Locking nut for consistent intonation
- DiMarzio Evolution neck and bridge humbuckers
- DiMarzio Custom single-coil middle pickup
- One volume and tone knob
- Five-way pickup selector switch
- Attractive gold hardware
- JEM hardshell case included

When Ibanez teamed up with Steve Vai, they chose the best in woods, an innovative selection of pickups, the best tremolo bridge, a 24-fret JEM neck, and a unique body design. And the result was the JEM7V -- a serious guitar for serious lead players!

Ibanez JEM7V Steve Vai Electric Guitar

Few would debate Steve Vai's tremendous influence on Ibanez guitars. When the first Vai JEM guitars appeared in 1987 -- with their Edge tremolos, lightning-fast 2-octave necks, and beautifully sculpted bodies -- they were cutting-edge. Today, they're still cutting-edge. And that's the mark of a true classic.

Steve Vai's Signature JEM7V features DiMarzio Evolution humbuckers in the bridge and neck positions and a DiMarzio Evolution single-coil in the middle position for a wide array of rock tones. Combined with Ibanez Split-5 wiring, this JEM provides incredible tonal versatility.

The JEM7V's 6105 frets are a high but thin fret with perfect intonation, good control, and easy playability and "no choking" string bending. The JEM7V also features an unbelievably fast 5-piece maple/walnut neck ideal for chugging riffs and leads all up and down the fretboard.

The JEM7V's groundbreaking Lion's Claw tremolo cavity allows pitches to be radically raised or lowered without obstruction.

Best known as the body wood for the "classic single-coil, bolt-on neck guitar," alder produces clear, full-bodied vintage tone that works well for lead or rhythm work.

Features:

- Contoured alder body with JEM Prestige neck for easy access to all registers
- Deep routed tremolo cavities allow pitches to be raised or lowered
- 24-fret 5-piece maple/walnut neck
- DiMarzio Evolution humbuckers in the bridge and neck
- DiMarzio Evolution single-coil in the middle position
- Rosewood fretboard with pearl/abalone vine inlay

I've played 45+ plus years with the firm belief that you played either a Gibson, or a Fender. Period. Don't misunderstand me, they both are wonderful companies that make professional products. That said, nothing chimes groans or sounds quite like a Jem 7v! I always wanted to play one but living in backwater USA prevented it from happening, so I took a chance and boy was I glad I did! This thing just almost (once I set it up to my liking) plays itself, and sound amazing, and that word doesn't do it justice either. Rock n roll wise it's the most toneful guitar I own.No support from Ibanez yet needed, and the guitar feels and plays great! Neck is a tiny bit wider than I'm used to but it didn't take long to adapt. If on the fence, don't be. This guitar is unbelievable !
