Ibanez GSR200SM Electric Bass

This sleek bass features a poplar body with a spalted maple top -- offering players an affordable bass that will stand out from the crowd.

Patterned on their famous SR, the Ibanez GSR offers the same alternative approach to electric bass that all SR basses do. Light in weight, heavy in tone, with a fast, thin neck that you will find just a bit more comfortable than other brands--whether you're a veteran bassist, a 6-string guitarist or just starting out.

Built to hold its own against pro level competitors, the GSR200SMNGT features a solid poplar body an exotically Spalted Maple top finished in deep, warm, Natural Gray Burst. A jatoba fingerboard, accented with medium-size pearl dot inlays round out the visuals.

A sleek, comfortable, GSR4 Maple neck--widely recognized as the industry standard for playability--and rock solid Ibanez B10 bridge, rev up the specs to accommodate whatever you set out to play.

Factor in Dynamix pickups for clarity and fullness well beyond their price point, and the PHAT-II EQ for ultra wide tonal range and you'll see why the GSR200 ranks as one of the most-played basses of all time.

For this low a price, you will not find a better sounding bass. Between the P/J configuration and the active tone boost, you really get a wealth of tonal possibilities. The finish is top notch - no different than what you'd find on a bass costing ten-times as much.I bought this as a cheap, lighter alternative to my more expensive 5-string Carvin, to use in smaller gigs where you're a lot closer to the audience (and clumsy drunks). I gotta say I have been consistently pleased with this bass in every way.
