"Finally hit the nail on the head big time with this one!"
Sound: Unplugged this sounds a bit thin but very nice. This should be expected though (thin) since the body is narrow and the focus is in it being Acoustic Electric and not just acoustic. When plugged in...WOW!!! My wife said I could not stop smiling when I was playing this. It has a soft approach with great sustain. The sound is steady and just beautiful (I've used this word twice now, exceeding my annual alotment here!). I love it and the price is well below market for the sound and the features. Feature: The EQ actually is obvious in its manipulation of the sound. All functions working great and the tuner being onboard is an added bonus for me. Its short and sweet and to the point. Out of tune or in tune no crazy pitch alterations through the length of sustain. The Stock EXP strings help with this steady sustain I'm sure. Great match-up and unlike soem other folks on here I would stay with the stock strings. These were what was on the guitar when it grabbed my ears hard! Ease of Use: It plays best for me with a soft touch because any rougher and I get some fret buzz due to the low action set-up on it ( I have a heavy thumb on the down stroke and grab a bit too much string). In other words I feel this is a sensitive guitar. I'm letting it sit out of the case for a day or two in my Houston climitized house before making any calls on getting something done about it. It didn't really seem to do this noticeably in the store but I was too busy smiling from ear to ear to probably know any different. This plays sweet. Quality: This is staying in the case period. It is only going to be out when I'm playing. The looks demand this kind of treatment to me. It is a handsome guitar with looks and workmanship of something costing twice as much easy. It also comes with a nice set of strap knobs for a forgot to mention feature. Fit and finish are second to none I've seen. Value: Could cost more and still be a great purchase. (Leave it alone though!!!! We need more equipment with this low price high quality thing! Manufacturer Support: No issues yet. Will deal with the dealer if the fret buzz is really an issue. The Wow Factor: The looks really are eye catching especially once the price is revealed. The trim, the woods the nice little touches. It all adds up to one solid, nice looking guitar. For the womans eye my wife though it was a really beautiful guitar...not cute but beautiful!!! (these do not count agains me, they are her use of the word) Overall: Laready have Sonar purchased so we are ready to start putting this puppy to work!!! I will pass this on to my son when he is old enough and appreciative enough no question that it is a keeper.

Sound: This guitar sounded great with the stock nylon strings however I have changed these for a set of Martin Silk and Steel. These are low tension steel core strings i.e. plain steel on the top E,B,G & steel core with silk fibre windings and nickle cover windings on the bottom D,A, and E. I wanted a wider neck small bodied steel string guitar without having to pay a fortune and this is just the job. It sounds bright unplugged, with loads of sustain and really wonderfull when amped up. The neck has a truss rod so the guitar will take the strain of these low tension steel strings. Feature: Great pre amp that gives a very broad range of tonal options. The shape control allows you to simultaneously boost or cut the bass, mid and treble EQ's at the settings they are at. It works a bit like a loudness control giving you a fatter sound without much apparent jump in volume. The guitar is lovely to look at, I have the black version, and just fits nicely into your body when playing. Nice wide neck for finger style work but not as wide as a classical and not as flat a radious. Ideal. Ease of Use: What can I say, its' a guitar. The action was a little on the high side and got higher when i fitted the silk and steel strings. However a tad shaved of the bridge saddle and a few tweeks of the truss rod and hey presto, a nice low action which is very playable even with bar chords high up on th neck. The Silk and Steel strings are soft so they help in this department and have a feel only slightly harder than nylon. If there is one weakness it's the tuner. It's very vague and will show the green in-tune light over too wide a tolerance. It's the same issue with my daughters Ibanez accoustic. Quality: Extremely good finish. No flaws on mine at all and I ordered it on-line. It has the look and feel of a much more expensive guitar. The body purfling, neck binding and abalone rosette are beautifully fitted. Value: Great value if you re looking for a quality alternative to a traditional classical guitar and if you do what I have done and fit Silk and Steel strings you get a great fingerstyle guitar with a wider neck than a standard accoustic. Normally you'd have to look at very exepnsive Martins and Taylors or custom jobs to get this as an option. Manufacturer Support: I've not really had to deal with them as yet. The Wow Factor: It's very desireable and a real players instrument. Not for thrashing out big chords but for subtle fingerstyle playing it really excells and has a great voice. Overall: I won't be parting with this guitar. It just begs you to pick it up and play and play and play. I use it as my main gigging guitar for solo singer sonwriter stuff, open mic nights and it always attracts attention and praise especially as everyone exepcts it to sound like a nylon classical, which of course it will if you leave the stock strings on. I might even buy a second one in the tangerine finish and leave the nylon strings on it. It's only just over 200 quid after all.
