Hartke VX3500 Bass Combo Amplifier (350 Watts, 4x10 in.) OK, we admit that designing the VX3500 was a bit of a no-brainer. You just take Hartke's best selling head, the 3500, and mate it to the incredible sounding Hartke VX410 cabinet and Bang! Instantly you have an awesome combination of power and sound AND the best value in bass combos. Why That's because the Hartke VX3500 is NOT just a combo. It's a no-compromise way to buy the absolute best in bass equipment in one great sounding package.
The 3500 mono amp delivers 350 watts into 4 ohms. It has independent tube and solid state preamps that can be used separately or together. Comprehensive sound shaping is provided by bass and treble contour controls and a 10-band graphic EQ. It's equipped with adjustable compression to add the precise amount of sustain and presence to the overall sound.
The new VX 'Very Extreme' 410 bass reflex cabinet was designed for bassists who demand excellent tone but prefer traditional paper cone drivers. Feature:
I love the fact that you can combine solid with Tube. Awesome Feature.
Quality:
I bought mine used.A couple of the pots wheren't working at all.But it's fine now.
Value:
Hard to beat.I've been told that if you take the Amp head out An Ampeg SVT-3PRO will fit right in like a glove.then you can have An Ampeg Hartke Hybrid.Plus it's a 4x10 cab with a horn. Versitile as heck man! Just a hard package to beat.
Desirability:
Like I said before Hard to beat. With an Ampeg SVT-3PRO head alone is about $800.00 U.S. which is only 300 watts. This is actually a 350 watt head & a 4x10 Cab for about $700.00 U.S. So back to the beginning .Hard to Beat.
Sound:
It's a Great sounding Amp.But I'm more of an Ampeg guy for sound.
Ease of Use:
Even a caveman could use it.Simple to control and find that perfect sound.Very Punchy to because of the horn.
Support:
Takes them forever.
Overall:
Sorry to repeat. But HARD TO BEAT.

"Price, value, performance. It's all that I personally would ever need."
Feature:
It has the classic 3500 head. nuff said. Well, actually I really like that it has solid state AND tube. Makes for some real dynamic tones. I was a little leery about purchasing this over the net. No local stores were carrying them but I took a chance and bought it sight unheard. My main concern was the VX line featuring paper cones and not the aluminum cones that made Hartke famous. I am unable to detect any depreciation in sound quality whatsoever. Only time will tell regarding longevity and durability but I don't forsee that as being a problem. I would have preferred a single 15" as opposed to the 4x10 but Hartke doesn't make that combo (yet?).
Quality:
Built like a brick. Everything is sound. Very dependable/no back-up needed. Purchased for performing live and it's awesome. No need for volume 5 let alone an 11. I rarely turn it up above 3 1/2. The worst aspect of the product is its weight. 120 lbs. It's a pig to move from the house to the van but worth every foot of it.
Value:
Considering that the SWR Super Red Head combo (2x10 350w)is just over twice the price (as I've priced them), I'd have to say that the Hartke combo ("4"x10 350w) is as good a value as anything out there. Seriously, this thing has balls. It's really all I'll ever need playing medium to large clubs. No second 15" cabinet required. I don't think I've ever had it above 4 on stage and often I don't even go through the PA.
Desirability:
I'm a Hartke guy. I've tried and owned others but really I can't find any reason to spend more, when in a practical sense this gives me all a want and need. If it were stolen or destroyed I would replace it with another in a heart beat. In fact, I owned the Hartke 1155 combo. It got stolen. They no longer make the 1155 combo so I tried other rigs. When the VX 3500 came out, it was as close as I could find to my old one. I like it as much or more than the 1155. Seen the photos? Pretty nice looking design too!!
Sound:
The sound is fat and full but still punchy. I really couldn't ask for more as far as sound quality. I owned a comparable Ampeg B2 combo and, lower wattage aside, I could never quite get the full, rich sounds like I get with the Hartke combo. It sooo easily gives me all I need.
Support:
Haven't needed it thus far.
Overall:
It's all I'll ever need. No additions unless I start playing arenas sometime soon (unlikely)
