With a pair of P-90s, the The Les Paul Junior Special P-90 captures the versatile tone and style of the classic Les Paul Juniors from the '50s.

The Gibson Les Paul Junior Special Electric Guitar has a simplicity that appeals to punk, blues, grunge and garage rockers, yet a tonal depth that attracts the hands of refined players. Made from solid mahogany, the Les Paul Junior Special has a sonic depth and richness that remains clear and articulate. The guitar's neck is made from quarter-sawn Grade C mahogany, carved to the fast, yet comfortable SlimTaper profile, with a bound fingerboard. Gibson USA packs in a classic set of Tune-o-matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece, along with vintage-style, white-button tuners.

For all the meat and muscle you'll ever want to muster, the Les Paul Junior Special P-90 carries a dual set of P-90 Soap bars. This single-coil pickup offers punchy yet slightly raw mids, but with smooth, slightly silky highs. I don't comprehend the way Gibson does things sometimes but it seems with their Studio, Junior and Special lines that all range in the $750.00 to $1000.00 price bracket, they make an excellent product. The instruments that I have received from these lines exceed their much more expensive counterparts from the vaunted Custom Historic Division. The resonance and tone of this guitar is absolutely amazing. The parts used are top notch. The "chrome white button tuners" are actual Klusons, not the Gibson Deluxe tuners which eventually break down and are difficult to replace one at a time. The baked maple fretboard is very nicely done and a good alternative to rosewood. Trust me, I would have preferred rosewood but after the unnecessary raid that was conducted on Gibson, it turns out that these baked maple fretboards are a pretty good alternative to the lost product as a result of executive branch overreaching. Bottom line, this guitar is worth every penny. Mine is the gloss yellow finished model and I am as happy as I can be with it. I have been playing for twenty years and without getting into the long story of my professional experience, suffice to say that I know quality when I see it and I found absolutely nothing wrong with this instrument. It rings, it plays like butter and it can handle any type of music one would want to play with it. A true classic, get one before Gibson stops making them again.
