Play the Gibson Les Paul Traditional Plus, one of tomorrow's classics. This Les Paul offers classic Gibson design with key modern innovations.

Tap into a legacy as old as the electric guitar itself with the Les Paul Traditional Plus. Straying little from the original combination of tonewoods, hardware, and electronics that defined Gibson's most iconic guitar, the Traditional Plus packs plenty of full-fledged tone, lasting sustain, and awe-striking style. For Gibson purists seeking an old-school Les Paul with modern Gibson quality, the Les Paul Traditional Plus is an absolutely stellar choice.

Classic Les Paul Pickups, Classic Les Paul Tone

The Les Paul Traditional Plus wields a pair of Gibson's '57 Classic humbuckers. These top-tier pickups are closely modeled on the original PAF -- or 'Patent Applied For' -- pickups from the mid-'50s, and gush with the forceful yet mellow tones associated with vintage Gibsons. Lay down bluesy rhythm tracks, soaring metal solos, or anything in between with the versatile sounds afforded by the '57 Classics.

Tonewoods and Hardware

While the '57 Classic humbuckers do much to lay the foundation of the Traditional Plus' tone, the tried-and-true tonewood and hardware configuration does the rest. Like all classic Les Pauls, the combination of a mahogany body with a maple top establishes an astounding balance of sound across a wide spectrum, and helps develop the legendary Les Paul sustain through the body of the guitar. Further enhancing the guitar's sustain is a stopbar tailpiece and tune-o-matic bridge just as you'd find on the most iconic Les Pauls ever produced. Rounding out read more the old-school appeal are vintage-style green tuners, gold speed knobs, and a comfortable '50s rounded neck profile.

What Does "Plus" Mean?

The Les Paul Traditional Plus features a gorgeous AA figured maple top which Gibson terms as a "plus top." Not only does this high-end maple look fantastic (especially when complemented with any of the available finishes), but also provides extra clarity and definition to the guitar's tone. Match that with elegant white binding on the body and fretboard, and the Traditional Plus is a guitar that you'll be proud to take home to Mom and Dad.

Gibson Les Paul Traditional Plus Guitar

The Gibson Les Paul Traditional Plus combines time-tested features with all of the snarling sound that you would expect from a Les Paul. The Les Paul Traditional Plus is also the first Gibson to use the revolutionary PLEK system, a computerized set-up that measures and dresses each individual fret while measuring the height between the fingerboard and the strings. You'll be shocked when you see how readily the Gibson Les Paul Traditional Plus avoids string buzz while providing for the ultimate in playability. With a mahogany body and set neck with a pair of Gibson's awesome '57 Classic humbuckers, the Les Paul Traditional Plus has the classic look and feel that guitar players grew up playing. And, of course, no plus would be complete without a beautiful figured Maple top.

This is the best Les Paul you can buy without spending $4000. I wanted to get a 58' reissue because of the tobacco burst and super chunky neck, but I really couldnt afford $4000 right now, so I opted for the Traditional in Ice Tea Burst. It is beautiful but not bright which I really like. The neck is not as thick as I prefer but It definitely isn't a broomstick neck. Even though Gibson ops to weight relieve everything thing now for some reason the guitar weighs in at a little over 9 lbs. This is my third one now and that seems to be the average, so it's by no means like those chambered les paula. The 57 classic pick ups also happen to be my favorite gibson pick ups to date. They have a full spectrum of highs and lows. Not to punchy like burst buckers. They have a creamy tone perfect for any style of music. The guitar is almost perfect out of the box--with the exception that I had to adjust the action and pick ups to my prefered height. ZZounds was awesome on the customer service spectrum. .They approved me for an 8 payment plan which was sweet because no other online retailer will do that. ( my credit isnt exactly immaculate ) They answered all my questions in a friendly manner and I got my guitar the very next morning by 10am with next day shipping. Thank you zZounds!!!!!!!
