The Gibson Les Paul Supreme electric guitar is a jaw-dropping beauty that instantly delivers a powerful and distinctive sound. It's got a AAAA maple top that will dazzle every eye in the room, along with a few modern innovations that make it one of the most versatile and easily playable Les Pauls on the market today.
Flawless Construction Means Flawless Tone
The AAAA figured maple top on the Gibson Les Paul Supreme glistens like mad under the stage lights, and reveals a seemingly infinite depth of texture when you examine it closely. The body itself is solid mahogany with a classic weight-relieved design, imparting almost endless amounts of sustain and a super pure tone. The warmth and resonance on this instrument simply must be experienced to be believed! The all-mahogany neck is set with a super high-quality Richlite fretboard that holds your bent notes with a uniquely precise feel. The gold Tune-o-Matic bridge and matching Grover Keystone tuners assure a tuning stability that is unbeatable for a Les Paul.
Hot, Coil-Tappable 490R and 498T Humbuckers
In the pickup slots the Gibson Les Paul Supreme has a 490R holding down the neck position and a 498T in the bridge. Utilizing genuine alnico magnets, these pickups are significantly hotter than the '57 Classics that appear on many other Gibson Les Pauls. In short, they were designed to deliver a more versatile and powerful sound for contemporary players. Both pickups benefit hugely from a four-conductor wiring scheme, allowing both 490s to be connected to a push/pull knob for splitting the coils if so desired. If modded to a push/pull switch, the tonal capabilities of a normal Les Paul are essentially doubled, allowing the humbuckers to function somewhat more like single-coil pickups.
A Classic Neck Shape
The set neck on the Les Paul Supreme is carved to a comfortable '50s rounded profile with a 12-inch radius. It measures .818" at the 1st fret and .963" at the 12th fret. The neck width measures 1.695 inches at the nut.
Supreme Appointments and Hardware Accents
Your Gibson Les Paul Supreme comes complete with an ornate custom-made seven-ply top binding, three-ply back binding, and mother-of-pearl split-block inlays. The gold showpiece headstock trimmed in five-ply binding and a distinct globe inlay and "Supreme" banner stamp this guitar with its peerless pedigree. The engraved brass truss-rod cover, gold hardware, and gold-tinted frets go even further in setting this guitar apart from the pack.

Since the arrival of a sunburst finish on its carved maple top in 1958, the Gibson Les Paul Standard has been considered the most elegant solidbody electric guitar on the planet. Occasional examples of these rare guitars from 1958-60 showed off gorgeously figured wood beneath their translucent 'burst finishes, setting a standard for the marriage of art and luthiery. Taking this look to its extreme, the Gibson USA Les Paul Supreme marries a carved Grade-AAAA figured top and back to the classic Les Paul design, for a guitar of unprecedented beauty.
This model bears all the hallmarks of an ornate custom-made instrument, with seven-ply top binding, three-ply back binding, a bound Richlite fingerboard with mother-of-pearl (MoP) split-block inlays, a showpiece headstock trimmed in five-ply binding with deluxe MoP globe inlay and "Supreme" banner, MoP Gibson logo, an engraved brass truss-rod cover, gold hardware, and even gold-tinted frets.
More than just an incredible looker, however, the Les Paul Supreme is also a powerful tone machine. A pair of Gibson's most popular humbucking pickups with genuine Alnico magnets yield a wide array of voices, from sultry to scorching, while traditional Gibson constructional details such as a 17-degree back-angled headstock, a PLEK-cut Corian nut, and rock-solid Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece pairing team up to provide unparalleled sustain and resonance.
