Dark Back is Back! The Gibson 1960s Les Paul Studio Tribute Dark Back Electric Guitar comes in the Bare-bones design that provides the rich tone of the original Les Paul, how it is supposed to sound. The Les Paul Studio 60s Tribute model embodies the look and tone of the great original Les Pauls from the 1960s, at a price that fits the wallets of today's hardworking musicians.

Ever since its introduction in 1983, the Les Paul Studio model has been enormously popular with players seeking the power and versatility of the original Les Paul Standard in a ready-for-action package, with a price to match. The Les Paul Studio 60s Tribute sticks to the script entirely, but its Dark Back-style and meaty dual single-coil P-90 pickups give it a vintage flare. The fast SlimTaper neck profile reflects the feel of Les Paul Standards from 1960s!

Body and Finish

A solid, carved maple top and chambered mahogany body with Gibson's infamous Dark Back give the Les Paul Studio 60s Tribute the same tonewood combination that has been helping Les Pauls rock for nearly 60 years. The instrument's unbound body and neck keep it in step with the popular Les Paul Studio line.

Neck and Headstock

The Les Paul Studio 60s Tribute Dark Back is crafted with a solid quarter-sawn mahogany neck with fast SlimTaper profile, an unbound rosewood fingerboard, and a headstock set at the traditional 17-degree angle for superior transference of vibrational energy, all ingredients of the classic Les Paul Standard of 1960.

Pickups and Electronics

To give it the vintage look and meaty, raw sound that this rock 'n' roller deserves, the Les Paul Studio 60s Tribute Dark Back carries two Gibson USA P-90 pickups, which are wired through the traditional four-knob Les Paul control array, with a three-way Switchcraft toggle selector.

Designed to offer the rock solid dependability that today's musicians demand, while reflecting the look of classic hardware from the mid-60s, the Les Paul Studio 60s Tribute's Nashville Tune-o-matic bridge, stopbar tailpiece, and Kluson-style tuners present a best-of-both-worlds hardware package.

"awesome guitar"

Overall: this guitar is all i have been looking for. the p-90 pickups have both the meaty and singing quality. sustain is forever. you dont get the flashy binding and glitz of a higher priced les paul but if sound is what you are looking for it is all right here. and what a price for a gibson made right here in the USA!

Overall: This guitar is a great instrument, especially for the money. I have several Gibson Les Paul's, both customs and standards.. but I didn't have one with the P-90's in it, which is why I specifically bought this one. They sound great and the guitar plays as good as anything in my arsenal..( fine out of the box but you may want to tweak the setup to your specs)...If you want fancy and really pretty, your'e going to have to spend more money, but you can't beat this one for under 900 bucks !!! The finish and overall craftmanship on this guitar are great. I'm glad I got it and I'm proud to put it in line with all my other fine GIBSON guitars !
