The Limited Edition Gibson 1950s Les Paul Studio Tribute Guitar features that low frills design that has made the Studio Les Paul popular among studio and live artists. Offering a 50's rounded neck and incredible finishes worn for that aged appearance, the 1950s Tribute is a powerhouse of tone with it's chambered body and powerhouse P90 pickups. The orange drop capacitors built into their tone circuit provide an authentic vintage sound.

Body and Finish
A solid, carved maple top and chambered mahogany body give the Les Paul Studio 50s Tribute the same tonewood combination that has been helping Les Pauls rock for nearly 50 years. Five authentic 50s-style finishes--Worn Gold Top, Worn Honey Burst, Worn Heritage Cherry Sunburst, Worn Ebony or Worn White--present a guitar with the look of a gently aged original, while the instrument's unbound body and neck keep it in line with the popular Les Paul Studio line.

Neck and Headstock
The Les Paul Studio 50s Tribute is crafted with a solid quarter-sawn mahogany neck, a rosewood fingerboard, and a headstock set at the traditional 17-degree angle for superior transference of vibrational energy--all ingredients of the classic Les Paul Standard of the 1950s.

Pickups and Electronics
To give it the vintage look and meaty, raw sound of an original 50s Les Paul, the Les Paul Studio 50s Tribute carries two Gibson USA P-90 pickups, which are wired through the traditional four-knob Les Paul control array, with a three-way Switchcraft toggle selector and quality Orange Drop tone capacitors on the tone pots.

Designed to offer the rock solid dependability that today's musicians demand, while reflecting the look of classic hardware from the mid 50s, the Les Paul Studio 50s Tribute's Nashville Tune-o-matic bridge, stopbard tailpiece, and Kluson-style tuners present a best-of-both-worlds hardware package. zZounds is an authorized dealer of Gibson products.

"This guitar is too good to be This cheap and it's American Made."
Sound: This guitar is too good to pass up. It is by far the best sounding Les Paul I have ever owned. I received it last week from Nashville showcase evidently it was pre flood manufactured, Everything was spot on from the fret finish to intonation. I am trying to get a Gold top for my grandson that is not even born yet!The P90's are the real deal in every way.The used finish is authentic as hell.I have not picked up my Tele since I got this Guitar. Feature: The volume and tone knobs are very easy to use and the toggle is solid. Ease of Use: I don't know if it is the 300 ohm resistance, but the slightest turn of the tone dial and you can notice a distinctive sound change. Quality: The pick guard is a little too flexible for me .I do a lot of palm muting and I have to get used to a little lighter feel because of it's flexing. Value: This guitar is a breath of fresh air for me and hopefully for Gibson The American Icon ! The guitar is worth twice the msrp price. Manufacturer Support: The people who shipped it were very professional and knowledgable Kudos to the Nashville store. PS: Great job of coping with Mother nature! Overall: I will own this along time no question about.

Overall: Being a bass player my whole music career with a minor in guitar, all the earned "extra" cash always went to support that endeavor. Well that didnt mean I didnt have a secret passion for the elite and less string impaired other half. Ive admired the classic look of the Gibson. Well after a perfect first order with zZounds I perused the site in more detail and now Im a real guitar player as well. Once again the term "blemished" at zZounds must mean something entirely diffrent because what I have here is an amazing sounding, playing, showing off, AND beautiful guitar that I cant find what would justify the great deal zZounds gave me. Of course I woukd have loved a shiney painted, non tribute edition guitar. But until I either make a lot more money or get sponsors, Im gonna go with a guitar that still is Gibson made, sounds better than any similar priced guitar and looks like it came out of some old time players closet just to be handed down to me. My only slight negatives would be the "white" plastic looking parts that are made to look yellowed a bit by time. Not huge but it just cheapens the effect a tad bit. But once you plug it in that will be lost. Even my normal objection to artificially aged guitars cant hold water here due to only the tiniest of scuffing present. These 50's tributes dont seem to be around much anymore, but if you do run accross one, do yourself a favor and get it immediately. Your other equipment will be fine for a tad bit longer...
