Still a Champ, 50 Years On

The Memphis ES-335 is a double-chambered semi-hollowbody electric with a unique 3-ply maple/basswood/maple body that resonates with a tonal character all its own. The neck is made from a single solid piece of quarter-sawn mahogany, carved in the classic SlimTaper "C" shape that is 1.685 inches wide at the Corian nut, and 2.045 inches wide at the 12th fret.

Hasn't Gained a Pound or an Inch Since

Today's Gibson Memphis ES-335 reproduces the exact specifications of the 1958 release. The body measures 16 1/2 inches wide at the widest point, 20 inches long, and 1 3/4 inches deep. The 24 3/4-inch-scale neck is topped with a 22-fret Indian rosewood fingerboard with pearloid inlays and single-ply binding.
