Gibson 335-S Solid Body Electric Guitar (with Case)

Funneling the controls and sounds of an ES-335 into a sleek solid-body, the Gibson 335S is a new take on a lost classic.

Where do you go if you dig the look, vibe, and tone of Gibson's legendary ES-335, but need a smaller, sleeker, solidbody guitar for your live and studio needs? You grab a new 335-S from Gibson USA, naturally! Built with the look and feel of the original semi-hollow ES-335, and using solid stocks of the same tonewood employed in that thinline's laminated body and sides, the 335-S is a fully solid electric, with all the advantages in tone and performance that such designs have to offer. Dressed in your choice of gorgeous nitrocellulose Vintage Sunburst or Silverburst finish with "reverse-zebra-striped" humbucking pickups and designed as a more compact version of the traditional "Mickey Mouse eared" double-cutaway ES-335, with all of the superb upper-fret access that model has to offer, the 335-S is a supremely powerful performer that knows no bounds of playing style or musical genre. In short, it kicks out solid tone wherever you point it.

To make it a true cousin of the original semi-hollow ES-335, Gibson builds the 335-S with a solid Grade-A maple body. A Grade-A maple neck is glued in, and carved in a comfortably rounded profile that measures .818" at the 1st fret and .963" at the 12th, with a Granadillo fingerboard that carries 22 medium-jumbo frets. Decorative touches are minimal, although tasteful dot position inlays link it to the first ES-335s of 1958-'60. A PLEK-cut Corian nut complements the solid and sustainful pairing of a Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece, read more while classic kidney button Grover tuners round off the smooth and efficient hardware selection up top.

Pumping all this solid and singing tone to max is a pair of Gibson's finest new renditions of the original PAF humbucking pickup, a Burstbucker 1 in the neck position, and a slightly hotter Burstbucker 2 in the bridge. Made with rough Alnico II magnets, just like the originals, and slightly mismatched turns of wire in each coil for added bite and sting, these sweet tone monsters give you everything from throaty warmth with impressive articulation in the neck position, to unfettered grind and wail in the bridge, with funky "both on" options in between--and they look great in their reversed "zebra coil" bobbins, too. Governed by the simple yet versatile array of an independent volume control for each pickup, master tone control, and three-way selector switch, these Burstbuckers give you all the voicings you could require for rock, blues, jazz, funk, R&B, fusion, or whatever direction you're headed. Check out the new 335-S today, and dig a solid slice of ES-335-styled mojo.

Each guitar includes a Gibson hardshell case and owner's manual, and is covered by Gibson's Limited Lifetime Warranty and 24/7/365 Customer Service.

everything about this guitar surpassed my expectations.I've gone over this guitar with a fine tooth comb and it is flawless.Hard to believe Gibson is selling these at such a low price. It's built like a tank and sounds awesome! One thing I really like about this guitar as opposed to the semi-hollow bodied version is it's slightly smaller body.As usual, Zzounds comes through with flying colors.Over the years I have purchased many guitars, strings, processors etrc from Zzounds and have never been disappointed.I'm so impressed with this 335-S I'm going to buy another one just for my backup when gigging. As a professional musician I strongly encourage you to treat yourslves to one of these work horses.

Musical Background:

been a guitarist since age 9 and a drummer since age 8, I do session work primarily.

Musical Style:

I've done session work for rock, country and gospel. My first love is blues
