The original ES-335 was virtually an overnight success upon its release in 1958. By 1961 -- the last year of the "Dot Necks" -- it was recognized as one of the most versatile electric guitars available anywhere, as it was adept at everything from blues, to jazz, to rock, to country. Extremely well made guitar, great sound and great feel. The only setup adjustment I made was to change strings to 11-50 and lower the action (it was shipped a bit high in my opinion and I like high action.) Other then that it's well worth the money.
