The new Fostex T20RPmkII and T40RPmkII now join the acclaimed T50RP in offering the true and accurate headphone monitoring crucial for recording studios, post houses, remote broadcast facilities, project studios and DJ'. Here is a range of headphones which have been designed from the outset to offer the widest frequency range, to minimise listening fatigue and to allow you to accurately pinpoint and analyse all aspects of your creative output. Headphones which faithfully reproduce all aspects of the program material, free from any sonic coloration and distortion. And headphones which combine supreme clarity and audio performance in a comfortable, sophisticated design.

Clear, Transparent Sound
All RP Series headphones deliver this uncolored reproduction and natural clear sound right across the full frequency range with full bass and sparkling highs. But it's the sonic quality at high sound pressure levels which really sets these headphones apart. Whereas lesser headphones struggle at high sound pressure levels, the RP Series have no such problems. The bass is always powerful and distortion-free even at high levels. - Essential when headphone monitoring in noisy environments such as ENG recording, DJ work, and in applications where you need to concentrate totally on your the program material. The Design of the leatherette padded ear cushions enhance the excellent sound isolation and superb deep bass reproduction

Unique Fostex RP Technology
Key to the transparent sound reproduction is Fostex's Regulated Phase Technology, a proprietory transducer and diaphragm design that has earned Fostex more than twenty international patents and has been successfully applied to microphones, headphones and loudspeakers used and relied upon in professional and commercial sound installations worldwide. This technology has been enhanced still further in a new RP Diaphragm (now standard across the range), which uses copper foil etched polyimide film to provide excellent resistance to high level input peaks of up to 3000mW (T50RP), ensuring an accurate sound regardless of the volume.

Comfort and Durability
Manufactured to the most exacting standards with durable, tough and rugged materials and components, RP Series headphones are not only built to last. They're also built for comfort. Those padded ear cushions and wide, self adjusting headbands ensure maximum comfort and fit during extended wearing periods. Fostex's eye for design and real-world usability can also be seen in the lockable, single entry jack which minimizes cord tangles and offers excellent serviceability.

The Last Word
Whether you're monitoring analog or digital audio sources, work in a professional or project studio, mixing live, or need a great pair of 'cans for DJ work, you require headphones which offer solid bass, clear mids and sparkling highs. And faithfully reproduce all aspects of the program material, free from any sonic coloration and distortion.

Fostex T50RP Pro Studio Stereo Headphones Reviews

"Pure Sound Quality"
Feature:
Basic headphones. No trix no gimmicks, just amazing sound quality.

Quality:
Headpones are tough, durable and can take a beating. No loose earpieces to flop around.

Value:
For the price these head phones are amazing. They can play at amazingly loud levels and still keep the clean non distorted sound they produce.

Desirability:
Not the "sexiest" pair of headphones, but who cares. I don't want sexy headphones, I want quality headphones that produce non-comparable sound. If it is style your looking for go to radio shack and by a cheap pair of silver headphones, these are pure quality.

Sound:
The sound quality is crisp clear and out performs many other headphones within price range. I also own a pair of the Sony MDRV700DJ, which have found a nice place on the shelf. There is no sound biasness with these headphones, they play the music as it comes in perfectly.

Overall:
I have had these headphones for six months now. I use them in the studio and at home. They still exceed their claim. If you are looking for the hot new product with all the flashy lights and functions look somewhere else. If you are looking for a comfortable, beautifully sounding, quality pair of head phones look no further.

"Promising but failed to deliver the accurate sound suggested by the advertisements and specs."
Feature:
Detachable cord is great Nice comfort (though this is subjective of course) Solid construction

Quality:
Nice quality as you would expect from Fostex

Value:
I feel these headphones are overated and not really worth the price. I really wanted to be able to say they are great but I bought them without being able to try them out and am quite dissapointed.

Desirability:
These are very business like in their appearance and have a low sex appeal, but who cares? They're headphones. What matters only is the comfort and the sound, are they accurate?

Sound:
These headphones have a very 'laid back' sound..too laid back! I want accuracy, of course but I suspect the rated frequency response is overstated because there is rather significant lack of treble energy in the region between 3khz and 14 khz. Many headphones over emphasize this region but in this case, Fostex has apparently gone too far the other way. The other problem is a total lack of bass 'punch' and there is certainly not much extension. I have listened for sub bass in the below 45 hz region and it's like there is a significant low bass roll-off. This could be an attempt to design headphones with twice the power handling of the competing brands, and these headphones can take a huge amount of volume without distortion. These headphones do a good job of giving one more of an impression of listening over monitor speakers and they are quite comfortable too. They are very durable and lightweight in construction and I really like the detachable cord. They are made to take the stress of daily studio use.

Ease of Use:
Just put them on and play your audio through them..they're headphones!

Support:
haven't had to contact them yet

Overall:
I am quite dissatisfied and have started looking again right away at another set of 'phones to use for tracking (my original purpose for wanting another pair of headphones in the first place). I already have a much more expensive set for serious listening. I feel that even for tracking these are unacceptable as they give false impressions of instrument balance and frequency spectrum. The low distortion is a plus and the transient response is very good in the midrange and extreme treble but you cannot trust what you hear from these and they are of course not fully sealed and let some sound out which might be a problem under some circumstances. I have never had a problem buying headphones mail-order before this from the other brands I own, but these should have been returned..but I didn't in time so...
