The Hot Rod Deluxe III is a 40-watt single 12 inch combo - the standard for gigging guitarists worldwide. Famous for the low-end headroom characteristic of 6L6 tubes and a versatile all-12AX7 tube preamp, it also boasts luscious Fender spring reverb, an effects loop and more. Players wanting to add a little more output, fullness and stage coverage can even add a extension enclosure (8 ohm). Additional Hot Rod Deluxe III upgrades include an easier-to-read black control panel with front-reading text, new badge, streamlined footswitch, graduated volume and treble pot tapers, "tighter" overdrive and a Celestion Creamback speaker.

It's like a cross between a blues deluxe and the standard hot rod deluxe III... The gain is really tight and smooth, the cleans are classic fender. It doesn't ever get muddy or harsh, it's just right. I'd recommend this amp for any genre except metal... and to be honest it could handle metal well, I'm just saying that because it's not the absolute best for it. My one concern is that when I switch from drive to clean channel theres a loud pop if you do it while you're playing. If you pause and switch it's fine but how often are you able to pull that off mid song? Gonna contact fender about that one...
