Fender invented the electric bass guitar, introducing the Precision Bass in 1951. Its thick sound and indestructible build changed the face of popular music. American Standard Precision basses are today's versions of the great instruments of bass heroes past and present-the modern interpretations of the classic instrument, refined for today's players.

The American Standard Precision basses feature Fender's high-mass vintage bridge, a thinner finish undercoat that lets the body breathe and improves resonance, and improved Fender tuning keys that keep the classic look but are 30 percent lighter, a richer and deeper neck tint for a more elegant appearance, a great-looking glossed maple fingerboard and satin back for smooth playability, a Fender-exclusive SKB molded case and a gorgeous Blizzard Pearl finish option.

Sound
First off, i would like to say that this bass has a very proffesional sound to it! The quality is perfect! Every note just rings in my ears till the next one hits. This fits my fast punk/ska playing sound perfectltly!!!I think the bright sound of the maple really lets you be heard and express yourself in a almost angelic tone.I would definitely say this awesome product helps me achieve that sound i had been longing.I Got my inspiration from bassists of bands like Led Zeppelin,Leftover Crack,Rancid, and OPIVY and as it tirns out all these men play a P-bass so the product definitely fits the music style i play (which is much like the bassists of the above bands).Id say maybe the happier tunes and really fast tempo sounds above amazing, but the dark and slow tunes will still rock your world. The day i first picked up this bass i played in a room without a drummer,or metronome and it sounded so sweeeet!!! its like this bass can control any moment by making it a fender p-bass moment.I really believe this is the best bass out there so the money is worth spending especially if u have a sweet ampeg 8x10 to go along with it.
