I wanted a Tele with a neck humbucker but was hesitant to pull the trigger on this one beause it was "Worn". I am so glad I bought this. Its a great guitar.
Sound
The combo of the Tex/Mex and the Duncan '59 are fantastic. All three pickup settings produce great and usable tones. From the brightness of the single coil to a muddy(not overly muddy) neck humbucker. The two together is in between but the Duncan seems to overpower the single coil just a bit.
Features
Don't let the "worn" scare you off. Its lightly worn not over done like the other worn teles. The C neck is the best feature. very comfortable. A bit less chuncky than my Epi les paul . The finish on the neck has been worn making very smooth and confortable to play. I wish it had to old ashtray/barrel bridge though.
Quality
Came well packaged. The action was already set to my liking. The intonation was dead on.
Value
I got this for about 850. For a MIM it seems a little high but the quality is there. If they made an American Standard with a bucker I would have went that route. Why they dont? Who knows? Spending almost 900 bucks this should have came with a case instead of a gig bag. So its a 4 star.
Manufacturer Support
Have not had to deal with Fender. Zzounds was great as usual.
The Wow Factor
I love it. I use it for every style except for metal. Not that it can't. It probably can. But I use by Gibson V for that stuff
