The Fender American Special Stratocaster HSS electric guitar combines the reliability of American workmanship with the sound and playability of a classic Fender Strat for a modest price. American-Made Strat

American-made Stratocasters are known for their superior quality, and the Fender American Special Strat HSS delivers American craftsmanship at a surprisingly affordable price. With a 25.5"-scale rosewood fingerboard and 22 jumbo frets, the American Special HSS feels just like a Strat should. It's got an alder body and maple neck, so it sounds great too, with all the richness and sustain you'd expect from a Strat. Fans of vintage appeal, take note: the American Special HSS sports a large '70s-style headstock, too.

HSS Pickup Configuration

Guitarists adore Fender Strats for their crisp sound. This particular Strat has been upgraded with an Atomic humbucking pickup in the bridge position, which when combined with the Texas Special single-coil pickups in the neck and middle positions, makes for one hot and growling Strat. That extra punch is going to come in handy when you're riffing over the rest of the band. Classic tone and volume controls are on board, with one volume and two tone pots and a five-way selector switch. Electronics have been upgraded with Greasebucket circuits read more too, so you can easily roll off the high end, tailoring your treble response without adding muddy lows.

I researched and read all reviews on this product. Although I am always going to local guitar center and trying out these guitars and already new what a great high quality guitar this strat is. I said that I was going to guitar center to check out guitars, but I buy my instruments at zZounds who makes it easy with pay as you play plan to purchase quality instruments. I have bought 2 banjos and 3 guitars from zZounds and am well pleased with all five purchases. But we're talking about the American special strat and just picking up this guitar you realize the quality of this guitar. I still believe that an American strat is still the best guitar made. The guitar sounds great and makes practice a whole lot of fun. I am definitely a fender stratocaster fan. I am bias. Love this guitar.
