Like the Gutenberg press, the steam engine, and the Ford Model T, the Fender American Standard Stratocaster is an object of extreme historical importance. The American Standard Stratocaster incorporates subtle refinements and tweaks into a timeless design for a better-playing, bigger-sounding, better-looking axe that's sure to turn today's up-and-coming six-string slingers into tomorrow's legends. Now featuring high-end Fender Custom Shop pickups, the guitar that helped define countless genres of music just keeps getting better.

Bigger Sound

This incarnation of the legendary Strat sounds as big as ever thanks to the use of three Fender Custom Shop Fat '50s pickups and other smart adjustments to the specs. The powerful single-coil pickups are identical to those used on some of Fender's highest-end custom models, and yield copious amounts of classic, chiming Strat tone. The high-mass, copper-infused bridge block has also been enhanced, so this Stratocaster works equally well playing percussive funk and country parts, singing rock lead lines, or full-bodied jazz chords. The new bridge specs pair nicely with the reformulated body finish. By using a thinner undercoat, the Strat's body can breath and resonate more freely, yielding a bigger, juicier tone.

Better Looks

Take a close look at this Stratocaster and you'll notice subtle aesthetic appointments that make this one of the handsomest Fenders to ever leave the production line. On both the maple- and rosewood-fitted read more versions, the fretboard now features a deeper finish and a high-gloss buff -- enough to turn heads by itself, but absolutely striking when complementing the attractive finishes. Gigging players need not fear, however, for the back of the neck is still that fretting-hand-friendly satin finish that makes shifting hand positions quick and easy.

If It Ain't Broke...

Fender knows better than to trifle with their flagship guitar, and they've kept all the features that guitarists loved from the previous models. The comfortable C-shaped neck profile is still there, as are the hand-rolled fingerboard edges that lend the guitar an already broken-in feel right out of the box. You'll be shredding on this baby like it's been your best friend and confidant for decades. Also retained are the staggered tuning machines, so you get reliable tuning stability, familiar feel, and genuine American Stratocaster tone in an axe that looks and plays better than ever.

- Absolutely classic Stratocaster design and sound
- Three Fender Custom Shop Fat '50s single-coil pickups with five-way pickup selector
- Twenty-two medium jumbo frets on comfortable rosewood fingerboard and classic C-shape neck profile

The American Standard Stratocaster is, has been, and always will be the guitar that Fender stakes its reputation on. With decades of history and millions of satisfied Strat players behind this timeless design, you'll be able to stake your reputation on one, too.

This is my first American Strat, and I'm not Disappointed at all. She is everything I wanted in a guitar and then some. I have a MIM Blacktop Strat that I love, and it's so well made I just could not Imagine that the American Strat could be much better. I was wrong it's better in a lot of ways, first the wood she's made from is beautiful and I love the way the wood grain just comes through the finish. The neck is so smooth and the rosewood fret board has a nice dark tone that looks Ebony.

Sound
Sound of the Fat 50s pickups is in a class all there on, the clean sound is beautiful with that bell like chime. From there you can get anything you want from blues to rock and more bite than a junkyard dog. She just has a sound that makes it hard not to smile when you play her.

Features
Best New features on the American standard is the 2 point tremolo, it takes a lite touch to use and stays in tune very well. I like the New bridge system as well, and the tuners are great. And should you need to use it there is the micro tilt for fine adjustments to the setup. Out of the case my guitar was setup very well, I only had to do very little to get her were I like it.

Ease of Use
This guitar plays great, she chords so easy it almost plays it self. You have seen reviews that read plays like butter, well this one dose. The volume and tone controls have great response, and the 5 way pickup switch has no read more play in it with a nice firm click when you switch from setting to setting.

Quality
Quality is first class all the way, the Finish is so beautiful and there are lots of colors to pick from. All the hardware on her is of the highest quality.

Value
At the price you pay for this guitar the value is more than anyone could Hope for.

Manufacturer Support
I have not had to use then but I'm sure it's some of the best.

The Wow Factor
The way the guitar looks and sounds, it's one of the most beautiful guitars made. And the fact it's the American standard with custom shop fat 50s pickups puts it a step above the rest.

Musical Background:
Have played music most my life, Piano keyboard, guitar,

Musical Style:
Country, classic rock, some Jazz, but blues is were my heart is and writing my own music.
