As unconventional as this new ESP bass looks, it's built with high quality woods and EMG HZ pickups with 3-band active EQ, just like some of the best basses in the world. The radical body angles and deep cutaway provide the look and playability of a truly extreme instrument. Features include an upgraded 5-piece maple/walnut neck, an agathis body, 24-fret rosewood fingerboard, double-action truss rod, and a deluxe string-thru body bridge.
5-piece Maple/Walnut Neck
This neck design provides a very solid feel and an improved transfer of tone from the neck to the body. Increased neck stability and performance will man less frequent truss rod adjustments
35 in. Long Scale Bass
The increased scale length provides tighter overall tension and improved performance, resulting in better response, especially from the lower strings. 5-string aficionados and those using dropped-tunings will find this feature a must-have.
Double Action Truss Rods
All ESP/LTD guitars and basses feature a 'double-action' truss rod design. Unlike a normal (single) truss rod, this one is adjustable in two different directions. This means that you'll never run into a situation where the neck has 'run out of adjustment'. Regardless of which ESP model you choose, you'll get years and years of playing enjoyment.

Feature:
First is the active equalizer, which gets a 10. The pickups are very high output for being passive, the bridge is very easy to adjust and stays where you put it, the tuners (Grover, baby, yeah!) are some of the best I've seen. I honestly dont have any complaint about the materials (the Agathis wings and such) because its the nicest instrument I've ever owned. My only complaint is that the pickup selector is a bit crackely, but I'll take it apart and clean the pots out.
Quality:
It came from the factory *nearly* perfect. The bridge was on the lowest settings, a few of the allen wrench sockets were lose on the volume/tone knobs (took 30 seconds to fix) and the pickup selector knob is crackely. Thats really the only complaint I have about this instrument, is that I cant adjust the pickups in the middle of a song because it crackles and hisses. I'll clean the pot out, though, which should fix it.
Value:
All I'll say is that I almost soiled myself when I saw the price, compared to the Ibanez basses at my local music store...
Desirability:
Oh god, its the epitomy of sexy. Its got curves and jagged edges, its gentle and brutal at the same time. It somehow manages to be smooth and rough at the same time/ At first, I was wary of the titanium finish, but its grown on me. That doesnt mean I'm not
Sound:
I really cant outright describe the sounds that come out of this bass. Its got that active EQ, you know? You can achieve a nearly endless tonal variety... its great fun to play with. The through neck is a godsend... it allows you to hear every ringing note with near perfect clarity. I myself like to crank the mids, put the high at half mast, and the low at 3/4, for a really natural, but ballsy distortion.
Ease of Use:
Within an hour and a half of pulling this beast out of the box, I basically had it set up perfectly. The manual is easily one of the best I've ever seen for any product I've ever owned, musical or otherwise (I literally read it for enjoyment sometimes), and this thing is so playable, the music just seems to come from nowhere and kick you in the arse.

If anyone took this from me, I would hunt them down, carve my name onto their backside, and pour salt in the wound.
