35 in. Long Scale Neck
ESP has decided to increase the scale length on the F Series and the new C Series basses to provide a tighter overall tension and improved performance. This will result in better response from all strings, especially in the low "B" string and 5-string models. If you tune below standard pitch, this feature will enable you to achieve the tension you want without using heavier strings.
5-Piece Maple/Walnut Neck
All of ESP's 200 and 300 Series basses come standard with a 5-piece Maple/Walnut neck design. This provides a very solid feel and an improved transfer of tone from neck to body. Increased neck stability and performance will mean less truss rod adjustments over time.
40-HZ-EP Pickups
These 5-string soapbar humbuckers with pole pieces are designed to be used with the B-30EQ active EQ. They feature 4-conductor wiring and a ceramic/steel magnet for more punch and a high output.

Feature:
The b-64 eq system with low, mid and high works great for slaping and popping the style.
Quality:
The quallity of the C-305 is very good. Mine had one little minor flaw , but for the price I paid I can't complain.
Value:
The bass is worth what I paid for it at closeout price.
Desirability:
The C-305 bass looks very nice . The body is small and the neck (35 inch) feels about the same as my other 34 inch bass neck.
Sound:
The C-305 has a great sound. The high EQ is a little noisy when turned all the way up. The Bass and Mid are very quite. I am going to have to consult with EMG about this matter, not sure if this is a normal thing or just on the bass I got. EMG suggest that you beef up the power by adding another battery in series to 18 volts (easy to do). I did this and it made a big difference in the clarity of the bass.
Overall:
I am very satisfied with this product. I would buy another C-305 or ESP bass different style in the future. Once again the bass feels good in your hands.

"a fine five string with a great sounding B string"
I just got the bass shipped in on 2-7-03 and I love everything about it. My only complaint is that I dont have the best access to the 24th fret but I get no buzz anywhere on it and the sound quality is superb. the first thing I did was play every note on each string. I just tuned it to pitch, loosened the truss rod ( I am a tech, so dont try this unless it is by professional means or you know how yourself!) retuned it and got no buzz. The neck has a very fast feel and the body is contoured to hug you while you play. I'm definitely ordering more of this model for backups and alternate tunings!
