Feature:
The guitar has great tuners, it tunes easily and stays in-tune very well. The pick-ups are better than most of the lower Epiphone models and they have covers and look great. They also sound amazing, as detailed above. Also there is a handy switch that lets you choose to use the neck pick-up, bridge pick-up, or both. This guitar also has the awesome trapezoid inlays on the neck which gives it a sweet Gibson look.
Quality:
The quality is fantastic. You couldn't ask for better quality at this price. Everything is solid and well put-together. It doesn't seem to have any "cut corners" or anything.
Value:
This thing is probably the best value in all of musical gear. For typical $300 - $400 it goes for, it is really a steal. I think it is at the same quality level as a Gibson -- I really do.
Desirability:
The SG body is probably one of the sexiest guitar bodies ever. Every time people see my guitar they comment on how awesome it looks. The finish is really nice and glossy and the trapezoid inlays really set it off.
Sound:
This guitar sounds incredible. Clean it has a bright, ringing, full electric tone, and distorted it has a fierce, dark, aggressive tone. I think that you can play just about anything on this guitar and it would sound great. I've played it through normal amplifiers and through the computer with GuitarRig and it sounds awesome both ways.
Ease of Use:
This guitar is so easy and fluid to play. For some reason the neck just feels great. I find it easier to play anything on this guitar than on other guitars, probably just because it is better quality.
Support:
I haven't had any contact with Epiphone but I know they would replace the guitar if I had a problem because I have heard the same thing from others.
Overall:
I will never want another guitar until this one like, dies somehow. This guitar is just so great that I don't really see how I could possibly improve upon it. I only wish that I had bought it sooner.

Feature:
The guitar had great parts! I loved how it came with speed knobs and chrome hardware. The knobs were brand new, no dents no cracks, etc, and they worked great! The switch was rotated so you switch it left to right rather than up and down, but I like it like that! This epiphone came with grover tuners, and man are they good. Although I wish MY g-400 came with some humbucker covers, just to top it off!
Quality:
The G-400 is amazing. When I got my G-400 it was brand new, there was no dents, no blemishes, and man oh man was it kept in good condition at the store. Everything was on in place, the tuners were tight on, the knobs were put on perfectly, no missing bolts! The frets are almost EXACTLY right on! I can play a variety of songs and such without the guitar going out of tune. I have had the guitar for about 3 weeks now, and man of man, I have only tuned it once, and it stays in tune forever!
Value:
For a guitar that's only 450$ CAD, I am IMPRESSED by the incredible value of this beast. It is just like any Gibson, but it's just less authentic(since Gibson is the maker of the SG, etc..)! If I had a budget, I'd think of getting a Gibson Les paul, since the Epiphone G-400 sounds JUST LIKE a Gibson SG!
Desirability:
When I stepped into Long & Mcquade, I looked around, saw many les pauls, and lots of strats & telecasters, I turned and looked at the corner, and there it was. I spotted the a wonderful looking SG. I really like how it has that Demonic, Satanic look into it, by the horns. It looks really nice because when held it, and wore it on and started playing it, damn did I look good with an SG!
Sound:
The sound of this beast is incredible, I don't know if its for every G-400, but my G-400 came with a Seymour Duncan humbucker, and a ceramic 490t hotwired. Sounds incredible with distortion on treble AND rythym! I am really impressed with how many tones you can reach with this beast. I can reach Led Zeppelin tones, AC/DC tones, and more tones! The guitar is pretty good clean too, although i'd prefer it on distortion. A bad thing is that you would need to turn down the two volume knobs to half if you want a good clean sound, other than that, this thing sounds just like a Gibson!
Ease of Use:
The G-400 is very easy to get used to! I can play from a variety of riffs, to solos really easy on this guitar! It is VERY easy to reach the top frets without a fuss! I am very impressed but how easy it is to play on this guitar!
Support:
Epiphone's support team is incredible. I have an Epiphone DR200 acoustic guitar, and once it fell down while I was sleeping and the headstock broke off, I called Epiphone, and they offered to give me a brand new epiphone DR 200. They were really kind and helpful, and they give great support!
Overall:
I find the Epiphone G-400 an amazing rock beast. I think I will be playing this guitar for YEARS! Until I get a job and buy a gibson les paul standard. I like the SG just as much as a Les paul, but now that I have a Epiphone SG that is just like an Gibson SG, I think i'll get a Gibson Les Paul Standard, because I've never had one before.
