Product Description

The definitive rock sound of the 1960 Les Paul Tribute comes from the combination of excellent tonewoods and advance electronics. The mahogany body is capped by a maple top with stylish finishes that highlight the attractive grain of the wood. The neck and body are joined using a vintage "deep-set" neck joint, which extends far into the body of the guitar for an incredible degree of connection. This exact style of neck joint was one reason behind the now legendary sustain of the classic-era Les Pauls.

Gibson '57 Pickups

In addition to the classic style body and neck of the Epiphone 1960 Les Paul Tribute, this axe wields a pair of upgraded Gibson '57 pickups. The '57 Classic at the neck provides the vintage Les Paul warmth, while the slightly hotter '57 Classic Plus at the bridge is ideal for crunchier rock tones. For an even further range of sonic possibilities, the 1960 Les Paul Tribute sports two push/pull tone pots to switch between series and parallel pickup configurations. The ability to switch between these electrical options gives an enormous array of tonal options to explore, adding the possibility of a thinner, surf-like twang to the standard beefy tone of a Les Paul.

Sound: The sound is this instrument is fantastic! This is a guitar for all types of music except Metal. Feature: The coil taps takes this guitar to another level. Ease of Use: What I found to be very interesting was when I selected to play both the neck and bridge pickup. The harmonics from both of these two pickups sound very lovely. I've read a lot of reviews about the Gibson Classic 59 humbucker pickups. What it really boils down to is taste, and knowing what your pickup is capable of doing. The bridge pickup is not too strong but that's ok because when you switch to coil tap, you get that single coil thump that Strat players are accustomed to. Quality: Very well made for an guitar made in China. This guitar was on sell as a blemished item and couldn't find a blemish on it. I Knew I had a great sounding guitar when I played it unplugged. The sound of the strings resonates off the wood very sweetly. In my opinion, this guitar is excellent for jazz and blues. You can play all types of rock music on this guitar, but this guitar is definitely superb for jazz and blues! Value: Worth every penny Manufacturer Support: None needed The Wow Factor: Hey, it's a Les Paul. What more can you ask for. Overall: I have no intentions of selling this guitar. If it was lost or stolen I would definitely get another one!

Sound: The sound of this guitar blew me away. Ive always played Gibsons, and was hesitant to buy this. But since it had the Gibson pups and upgraded electronics, I took a chance, and I am not disappointed. It sounds just as good as my 04 Gibson Standard. The coil taps sound pretty cool too. Not as thin as a Strat... I definately can use that feature in certain songs. The sustain is also extremely good. Im sure the long neck tennon helps... but this thing sings forever. Feature: The clincher for me was the locking tuners, Gibson pickups, strap locks, and coil taps. I would have added most of those features anyhow, so to have them come standard was a big selling point for me. Guitar came with adjustment tools, guitar cable, and case. Ease of Use: This is true Les Paul thru and thru. Granted, Its not a Gibson, but it sure as heck sounds exactly like one, and Ive compared it with my Gibson 04 Standard, and my Studio. The Epiphone sounds every bit as good as the Gibsons. Quality: I am pretty impressed with the build quality especially since it was made in China. I cant find any flaws on the finish. I did find a couple small spots of glue on the fret board, but I was able to remove it. Also, im not sure what they use on the fretboard...maybe some type of stain- but it turned my fingers black. I cleaned the fretboard with lemon oil and it took care of the problem, and the rosewood actually looks way better now. Mine came with 2 of the speed knobs cracked, but zzsounds is sending me a new set, so no problems there. Value: If you are gonna buy an Epiphone, this should be the one. It doesnt feel "cheap" like the lower end Epis, and has all the bells and whistles of any Gibson. You cant wrong. Manufacturer Support: Had to call customer service at ZZsounds because of two cracked knobs and they took care of me right away. I am completely happy with the service department so far. The Wow Factor: THe Cherry Sunburst is actually stunning. It is a pro job, and is very shiny. Not sure why they call it "faded"... If it wasnt for the headstock design, youd never know it wasnt a Gibson. The grain of the maple top is nice also. Better than I expected. Overall: If youre looking for a Les Paul, but you just dont have the cash for a Gibson, this is a great alternative. You get the great Gibson tone for 1/3 the cost. It is perfect for a working musician, and has all the features of a high end Gibson. If it was stolen, I definately would get another one. I would like to see a few more finish options, and maybe a flame top... But you cant go wrong with this guitar.
