In the neck position is Epiphone's Alnico Classic humbucker that provides warmth and subtle tone with a full, even response that doesn't hold back when you need that classic humbucker crunch! In the bridge position is the Alnico Classic Plus humbucker. A perfect companion to the Classic, it is overwound for a slighter higher output without sacrificing it's rich, vintage tone.

Both feature Alnico-II magnets, enamel wire and are double vacuum waxed as well as 4-wire output. This allows for coil-tapping and this LP takes full advantage of it with push/pull potentiometers on both volume controls. Combined with the 3-way toggle, it gives you a wide range read more of killer tones in one great guitar.

Double-Locking Tremolo
The PRO/FX features a Floyd Rose Special nickel plated tremolo. The body is routed out in back of the tremolo to allow for pitch raising up to 2-1/2 steps while the downward range is wide enough to get the strings slack. It's combined with a R4 locking nut for improved tuning stability.

Other features included quality Grover machine heads, LockTone tune-o-matic/stopbar and Epiphone's own StrapLocks. Like every Epiphone, it features their Limited Lifetime warranty backed by world famous 24/7/365 day Gibson Customer Service.

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars

Sound
the sound of this guitar is very meaty and straight forward. i was impressed from the first time i plugged it in. i was looking for a les paul sound and i got it! i know that many players may think that there is no way it sounds like a les paul but i spent the good part of the day switching from a "real" les paul to the epiphone. this guitar really screams! i really love the neck pick-up,so sweet and thick.

Features
when i was looking for another guitar i was not really interested in one with a tremelo but after playing it i was sold. another feature is the push pull pots which i was sold on immediately! the color, fit and finish were very nice. the top is beautiful..i got the honey burst. this guitar is built very well compared to other epiphones i have played and owned.

Ease of Use
it was a little tough getting used to...my main guitar is an ibanez rg550. the volume knobs are tough to get to because of the floyd rose but i'm getting used to it. be sure to use the tone controls..most guitars you don't get much range but this one really does. again coming from the slim taper neck of the ibanez this 60's style neck is really comfortable.

Quality
fit and finish seem very applaudable..this is what sold me. the honeyburst is just stunning with the flame top. so far this guitar has held up well and has become my main axe. i am very light on my equiptment read more so i'm hoping this will hold up just fine,it's very sturdy.

Value
this guitar is an outstanding value compared to it's american made version. like i said i played many "real" gibson les pauls that day and this one came out on top.

The Wow Factor
just play it...you'll want it...
