In the neck position is Epiphone's Alnico Classic humbucker that provides warmth and subtle tone with a full, even response that doesn't hold back when you need that classic humbucker crunch! In the bridge position is the Alnico Classic Plus humbucker. A perfect companion to the Classic, it is overwound for a slighter higher output without sacrificing it's rich, vintage tone.
Both feature Alnico-II magnets, enamel wire and are double vacuum waxed as well as 4-wire output. This allows for coil-tapping and this LP takes full advantage of it with push/pull potentiometers on both volume controls. Combined with the 3-way toggle, it gives you a wide range of killer tones in one great guitar.
Double-Locking Tremolo The PRO/FX features a Floyd Rose Special nickel plated tremolo. The body is routed out in back of the tremolo to allow for pitch raising up to 2-1/2 steps while the downward range is wide enough to get the strings slack. It's combined with a R4 locking nut for improved tuning stability.
Other features included quality Grover machine heads, LockTone tune-o-matic/stopbar and Epiphone's own StrapLocks. Like every Epiphone, it features their Limited Lifetime warranty backed by world famous 24/7/365 day Gibson Customer Service.

What Our Customers Are Saying About zZounds
"The zZounds payment plan is essential for working musicians on a tight budget―and every working musician is on a tight budget." - customer on February 3rd, 2012
Sound:
the sound of this guitar is very meaty and straight forward. i was impressed from the first time i plugged it in. i was looking for a les paul sound and i got it! i know that many players may think that there is no way it sounds like a les paul but i spent the good part of the day switching from a "real" les paul to the epiphone. this guitar really screams! i really love the neck pick-up,so sweet and thick.
Feature:
when i was looking for another guitar i was not really interested in one with a tremelo but after playing it i was sold. another feature is the push pull pots which i was sold on immediately! the color, fit and finish were very nice. the top is beautiful..i got the honey burst. this guitar is built very well compared to other epiphones i have played and owned.
Ease of Use:
it was a little tough getting used to...my main guitar is an ibanez rg550. the volume knobs are tough to get to because of the floyd rose but i'm getting used to it. be sure to use the tone controls..most guitars you don't get much range but this one really does. again coming from the slim taper neck of the ibanez this 60's style neck is really comfortable.
Quality:
fit and finish seem very applaudable..this is what sold me. the honeyburst is just stunning with the flame top. so far this guitar has held up well and has become my main axe. i am very light on my equiptment so i'm hoping this will hold up just fine,it's very sturdy.
Value:
this guitar is an outstanding value compared to it's american made version. like i said i played many "real" gibson les pauls that day and this one came out on top.
The Wow Factor:
just play it...you'll want it...

"Epiphone - You hit the Bulls eye with this one. Exactly what I was looking for. Now I can leave my Van Halen Strat at home and"
Sound:
These pickups are not quite as hot as I like but they do have their own nice character and you can really hear the wood in the guitar. The single coils while not like a strat come in handy on the jingly jangly stuff.
Feature:
Nice finish, nice Mahogany weight to it. It is a real Les Paul. Not chambered out like the studio models. The finish is absolutely beautiful! The FLOYD ROSE and COIL TAP HUMBUCKERS are exactly what you need if you are in a cover band and play a wide variety of music.
Ease of Use:
Finally a LES PAUL that stays in tune, dive bombs like a super strat, sounds like a Les Paul and Jangles like a Strat when needed. This guitar gets a lot of great tones. Beware - The setup from the factory was HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. But after a You Tube Video on Kahler Set Ups from Mr. Kahler himself...this guitar ROCKS. The action is just like my 1970s Les Paul.
Quality:
With the exception of the volume pots feeling "cheap".....everything else gets a 10. The volume pots work fine but I don't see them lasting 40 years like the ones on my original Gibson Les Paul.
Value:
For the money this thing is worth every penny. I would not want to drag a vintage Gibson or a new $2500 Gibson Les Paul around the club circuit. This allows me the features of a LES PAUL without breaking the bank or being afraid of getting a vintage guitar stolen or damaged on the road.
Manufacturer Support:
Have not had to deal with them yet.
The Wow Factor:
This has great appeal. The desert burst finish is beautiful. With the Floyd Rose and coil tap pickups it can do the job of several types of guitars. This is a great guitar for the working musician....and you do not have to make any sacrifices in playability, price tag, quality.
Overall:
I think this guitar will serve me very well for years to come. If someone stole it I would buy another just like it....and the person that stole it? Once I found them they would regret it only once....and that would be continuously.
