"The Alleykat, another great value from Epiphone."
Feature:
I really like the master volume knob on this guitar. It allows me to use the pickup selector switch with the master volume to make quick, live stage adjustments.

Quality:
The pickups sound great, the neck is super playable and the finish is beautiful. The toggle switch is a typical Epiphone (adaquite, but not great). I've all ready upgated to a Gibson switch. The one downside to this guitar is the cheap volume and tone controls. I'll be upgrading them to Gibson as well.

Value:
Lets face it, Epihpone continues to turn out a high quality, reasonably priced instrument. I'd buy another in a minuite.

Desirability:
This is the guitar I was looking for, a hollow body Les Paul. It looks great, sounds great, and if I happen to back over it with a truck, I'll buy another. People are always coming up to me and asking "what the heck kind of guitar is that"? I'm happy to tell them.

Sound:
The Alleykats Gibson made Hunbuckers (one 57', one New York Mini), sound great. The Mini, in the neck position, has a hotter sound than bigger 57'.

Support:
I've had no need for support.

Overall:
In searching for a hollow body, Les Paul style guitar with Humbuckers (I fight 2 other guitarists with single coil pickups), I have been more that pleased with the Alleykat. After some setup considerations, it has become my favorite ax.

"Great Value!"
Purchased this guitar 6 months ago. Best purchase I've ever made. Fantastic value.I play mostly Oasis and stuff similar to that. The combination of the mini-NY humbucker and the '57 humbucker (both pu's are Gibson USA made) gives me the rhythm and lead guitar sound of oasis in one guitar! The mini NY humbucker is the killer pu on this guitar. It's also well balanced for a semi-hollowbody with a medium to thick neck which fits my hands perfectly. My only complaint on the quality of build is the pickup selector switch which is classic Epiphone quality (read: bad). I plan on installing a Gibson USA switch when this one dies on me. Otherwise my Alleykat was setup perfectly to go. Now at $399, it is by far the best value semi-hollowbody guitar out there! Recommend playing one through a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe Reverb amp to one out. You might fall in love, like I did.
