"Canis Major - Awesome Speaker for Gibson Falcon"
Verified Customer
zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
I purchased this speaker, originally as a companion for a Mesa/Celestion C-90, to beef up my Mesa TA-15 TransAtlantic for gigs. I have a '63 Gibson Falcon GA-19rvt that sounded too bright when played through a Celestion G12H-30 Anniversary Edition. I switched out to the Canis Rex, and it was if the amp were reborn. It has since become a favorite recording amp of clients who visit my studio. It added clarity, nice round lows and very smooth highs, with a nice mid-range contour that lets the guitar sing! I am hooked. I will be purchasing a second Canis Rex to go into the cabinet it was originally planned for. Combined with the C-90, the sound is complex and both speakers compliment each other beautifully. I highly recommend this speaker for anyone looking to tame an otherwise too-bright amp, or just because it's an awesome sounding speaker that just gets sweeter the more she gets broken in.
