The Electro-Voice Sx300 is a 300-watt, 12-inch two-way, high-efficiency, constant-directivity compact speaker system with Ring-Mode Decoupling (RMD). Through the extensive use of computer-aided design and modeling, Electro-Voice engineers have developed a state-of-the-art professional loudspeaker system. The high-frequency section of the Sx300 utilizes a molded-in, 65-degree x 65-degree constant-directivity horn. This unique pattern contributes to high intelligibility, vocals sound natural yet "cut through" in reverberant, noisy rooms. In addition, the coverage pattern is unusually uniform over its range of operation. Sound quality off axis is very well maintained, even at 45-degree off axis (a 90-degree total coverage angle), beyond the rated coverage angle. The horn's unique, Varipath throat geometry helps direct driver output to the corners of the room, this helps cover areas of the audience that typically do not recieve good coverage. High-impact polypropylene structural foam provides a stiff and extremely durable lightweight enclosure. Molded into the cabinet are an integral carrying handle and a stand socket for mounting on 1-3/8-inch stands. Rubber feet that are attatched to the bottom of the cabinet and mating sockets that are molded into the top provide a means of stacking systems. The trapezoidal-shaped cabinet, in combination with the uniform, 65-degree x 65-degree directivity characteristics, make the Sx300 ideal for use alone or in arrays.

"Excellent, lightweight speaker."

Sound: Surprisingly sounds better than my JBL JRX112M (same speaker configuration). I was shocked when I placed them side by side. I've been an owner of various JBL speakers for over 25 years as a pro entertainer. I also own a pair of EV 15" 2-way Force i speakers. Feature: Three things I wish were different. The handles should be on top not on the sides, for easier lifting and carrying. The input connections should include both Speakon and 1/4" inputs. The input connections should also be on top for easy connectivity. Ease of Use: The output at the same mixer setting between the EV and JBL, was louder and more responsive with the EV. Quality: Construction is great. Gave it an 8 because of the handle and connection placements, which are more convenient on the JBL. Value: More pricey than comparable products, but if you factor in the sound quality, it's a personal opinion. Manufacturer Support: Prompt response and help. The Wow Factor: The front should be flat, not concave. It would be easier to stack the speakers face down on a dollie. Overall: I think this is a great product, albeit a little pricey for most, but the quality should take the sting out of the price paid. I like the weight factor. It's easier to lift and position than heavier units of the same size.
