High Martin Standards

It doesn't have a fancy pickguard or rosette detailing, but that's okay. Like many other guitars by Martin, the Backpacker guitar boasts a surprisingly rich, loud tone, making it a good choice for solo practice, accompaniment with vocals, or any impromptu performance. An especially nice feature of the Backpacker is its full-size fretboard, which makes it easy to go from the little Backpacker to any other guitar without feeling awkward. When you're done playing, slip the Backpacker into its padded black nylon carrying bag (included) read more for safe keeping.

About the Martin Guitar Company
For well over a century and a half, The Martin Guitar Company has been continuously producing acoustic instruments that are acknowledged to be the finest in the world. The Martin Guitar Company has, through the years, managed to survive with each succeeding generation from C.F. Martin, Sr.'s Stauffer influenced creations of the 1830's to recent developments introduced by C.F. Martin IV. Continuous operation under family management is a feat bordering on the remarkable, reflecting 6 generations of dedication to the guitar maker's craft.

In or out of the music industry, C.F. Martin has few rivals for sheer staying power. Throughout its colorful history, the company has adapted successfully to continual changes in product design, distribution systems, and manufacturing methods. In spite of the many changes, C.F. Martin has never veered away from its initial commitment to quality. The concern for producing the finest instruments possible in 1833 is especially in evidence today at Martin's expanded facility in Nazareth, Pennsylvania.

My husband wanted a guitar for a self contained cross country bike tour. It is beautifully crafted, light weight, sounds pretty awesome for such a small bodied guitar and the bonus is that it's easy enough for me to play with my little girlie hands because it uses extra light strings. I can see myself actually finally learning to play some guitar with this beauty. My husband really likes the easy action and good playability. It sounds plenty big for campfires and it doesn't drown out my Uke. Overall we Loooooooove it.
